Shapecity posted a thread in the rumor mill from ESPN insider that Francis wanted to be on a different team ever since Mobley got traded. So I said, hey what about us, we can go after him. And this is what I came up with Warriors will do this with a first round pick in '06 Golden State trades: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.6 apg in 31.9 minutes) PG Derek Fisher (11.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.8 apg in 26.3 minutes) PF Clifford Robinson (9.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.8 apg in 27.1 minutes) Golden State receives: PG Steve Francis (21.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 6.9 apg in 37.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: -10.8 ppg, -4.1 rpg, and -1.3 apg. Orlando trades: PG Steve Francis (21.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 6.9 apg in 37.5 minutes) Orlando receives: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.6 apg in 31.9 minutes) PG Derek Fisher (11.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.8 apg in 26.3 minutes) PF Clifford Robinson (9.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.8 apg in 27.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: +10.8 ppg, +4.1 rpg, and +1.3 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Golden State and Orlando being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Golden State and Orlando had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Warriors new starting lineup: PG: Stevie Francis/ Speedy Claxton/ Luis Flores SG: Jason Richardson/ Calbert Cheany SF: Mickael Pietrus/ Calbert Cheany/ Zarko Carparkapa/ Najera PF: Troy Murphy/ Eddy Najera/ Zarko Carpakapa/ C: Adonal Foyle/ Andris Biedrins/ Dale Davis Drool... Why Golden State does it, RunTMC all over again. Also they get rid of Mike Dunleavy and Derek Fisher who both appear to be not trying and might do better with a different team. Also the Warriors would make a fight at the playoffs Orlando Starting Lineup: PG: Derek Fisher/ Jameer Nelson/ Mike Dunleavy SG: Doug Christie/ Mike Dunleavy/ DeShawn Stevenson SF: Grant Hill/ Hedo Turkoglu/ Stacey Augoman/ Brandon Hunter PF: Dwight Howard/ Hedo Turkoglu/ Cliff Robinson/Patt Garrity C: Kelvin Cato/ Cliff Robinson/ Tony Battie/ Mario Kasun Why Orlando Does It, Cliff can mentor Dwight Howard and will provide good minutes off the bench. Mike Dunleavy is a good back-up and maybe this team is just right for him. Derek Fisher might be able to mentor Jameer Nelson and guide the team as a vet.

Ive never been a huge Francis fan but at this point Ill take anyone to help this team score..
If we gave up crap players for Steve Francis that would be awesome. Not the biggest fan of Steve Francis, but he is fun to watch and I felt the Rockets never should have traded him because he provides leadership, defense, a walking mismatch in speed and size for his position and he's extremely durable for how many times he gets to the foul line. I'd be happy if we got him for what we give up.
Francis and J-Rich together!? Sick! I like it! GSW will be every week on Top10 plays/dunks of the week!
I doubt Steve Francis really wants out of Orlando just because of that trade with C.Mobley, yeah he doesn't like it but he is a professional and understands the NBA is a business. I read that he will just keep playing hard, thats all he really can do. Besides even if Francis did want to be traded, the Magic would be stubborn to trade him if they would be considering to trade him at all, especially with a deal like Air P. came up with.
I highly doubt the Magic would get rid of Francis because he's made this team so much better this year. He's turned this team into a playoff contender. You have to remember that this team was one of the worst teams in the league last year, and now, they're one of the top teams in the east.
Yeah, it just wouldn't make sense for Orlando. Even if he wanted out, why trade a disgruntled allstar for questionable talent and expiring contracts? That kind of stuff would make perfect sense for the W's management if they were on the receiving end of a bad trade. If the Magic wanted a guy like Cliff Robinson to mentor Dwight Howard all they could do is make the playoffs, prove they are winners, and then convince and sign Cliff for the MLE. Orlando needs Francis and if he ever wanted out, at least get proven talent back for him.
The only chance we have at getting Francis is if we give up Richardson straight up with maybe a draft pick or something...
Why even take a Francis? Guy is a gunner with a shoot first mentality who has not shown the willingness to make his teammates better. What has he ever won? Nothing. Loads of talent but (from afar) always seems to shoot first, pass second. Last year, seemed to make some efforts to pass to Yao but too many nights looked like he and Mobley were jacking up 35 shots +/game while Yao got 10 and they were shooting 38% and he was shooting 50%.

He has won 50 games before. And that is more than anyone we have had since Webber...
Stop This Trade Dunleavy Non-Sense! I'd like to see Fish gone ... I'm thinking more of a Fisher/Najera/Robinson for Francais/(A Big Player)
Francis and Mobley are just poison to any back court when both are on the same team. Mobley will always take the shot if he has the ball ( that's the kind of player he is). But Richardson is more unselfish, Francis' drives and defense at 6'3 would help put the other team over the limit for more than Claxton can because not only is Francis pretty quick and durable, he can post up other guards and just shoot right over them. He's pretty turnover prone, but he's still a talent you can't pass up. Anybody know if we can dump Fisher for Bobby Jackson or somebody? Because he needs to go.
^Jackson is injured and I'd kind of like to see a star on the Warriors again. A point guard or a center prefferably
