He's been saying this since the summer. Nothing new here. We've all weighed in and I believe that Phil would be a greast coach for us so long as Marbury would be willing to run a proper half-court offense. I would prefer taking a shot at Larry Brown this off-season, though. Can't complain with Phil.
As far as I'm concerned, Phil Jackson is the greatest coach ever, would LOVE to see him at the Knicks. I also think having him would attract some higher quality players.
I wish we still had Van Gundy though. Anyway Phil Jackson is a good coach, but I don't think he is a good fit for this team. Players such as Marbury, and Crawford will really be detrimental to Jackson's coaching style. Either these players will have to change their style, Jackson will have to changes his style, or we need new players. I think Larry Brown will be a better fit for this team.
Phil Obviously Phil would be an upgrade over Herb but we need a coach that will yell at them and give them a metophorical kick in the a**. Example: Larry Brown this offseason. (Fratello would have been perfect ) Jackson is great at tinkering and getting the most out of talent but not at to quote Hoosiers "breakin em down and building them back up agian". To borrow from ESPN.com could you see TT doing zen? Could you see phil handing the knicks players books to read? Can TT even read?
