What do you mean by best? Best looking? I don't think that there can be a "best" routine because there is no exact way of performing a free-throw routine. These routines that NBA players do help them to concentrate.

    ^What Does Gilbert Do?

I like Richard Hamilton's routine where he bounces the ball on the side.

[IMG] Stackhouse's is funny. How could he bend that far down[IMG]

My favourite to watch is richard Hamilton's routine... his pre-shot etc is cool and then he opens his mouth so wide in a cool way... I tried to open mouth mouth like that but it's so hard!!

How many players shoot without bouncing the ball? Is there anyone who shoots freethrows without a "routine?" That is, he shoots the ball as soon as he catches it?

Two of the best free throw shooters, Steve Nash and Ray Allen, both mime the free throw stroke a few times before shooting the ball. It works pretty well for them, so I guess that must be the best routine.

He does and around the world around his waist, spin the ball in his hands, then shoots, normally does it about twice, he has a pretty long one.

    I like this thread.
Can people please describe the one they pick? Just for those of us who don't get to watch many NBA games.

I know Jalen Rose doesn't dribble the ball. He just spins it in his hands a few times and shoots.

I like Jordan's...bounce a few times and shoot.

He still does it. Its like he lets all the air out and relaxes.
But the best one IMO is Gilbert Arenas. Its just tight now he spins the ball around that much times. [IMG]

Jordan- eyes closed. gota love it. just to stick it in dikembe mutombos face.

Jason kidds kiss to the rim was good but he neva does that anymore. worst free throw routine is shawn marion. ITS JUST NOT RIGHT AND ALL WRONG! and he still makes 75%!
    richard hamiltons rocks.

i spin the ball to myself, set my feet, take a couple dribbles then go up for the shot, and leave the gooseneck for about 5 seconds before taking a step forward

Gilberts is cool, as well as time consuming. Stack's is funny especially considering I used to do my routine simliar to his, lol (his is probably the worst looking). Then my favorite has to be Rip's considering I remodeled my routine after his.
