The SN Power Rankings came out today and after the huge loss at home to the spurs and the huge win at home over the Nets (along with, of course, their fairly solid play of late) the Top five are as follows

    1) Spurs
    2) Mavs (this one kind of surprises me but they have been playing well over the last week)
    3) Kings (moving up from 4 last week)
    4) Suns
    5) Sonics

interesting again that the top five are all western conference teams.
It begs the question "is there a team out of the east that can win the title this year?". (yes, I realize that we are only half way through the season, but hey... it makes for good conversation [IMG] )
Specifically regarding the Kings, do you feel this is an accurrate placing for them? they tend to have problems beating teams in the top 10 (although they do have wins agains SA and Phx) and have a tendency to let other teams get back into games.

I think that they are wrong with the Mavs. They are still a team that has no chance this year. I will be totally shocked if they make it into the second round. And to have them listed above the Heat?, above the Suns? and most importantly above the Kings?? This makes no sense to me. I think that the Washington Wizards are a better team than the Mavs.

The only accurately placed team i think is the Spurs. The Mavs certainly arent the 2nd best in the league, the writer MUST be a Dallas fan.The Kings at 3 might also be a stretch.Suns should be ahead of Sac and possibly Miami.I think it could go either way with Sac or Miami at 3.

There's no way Dallas is above us and there's no way Phoenix should be below us. If you switch the Mavericks and the Suns, I think that will make it a little more accurate. Which would still put the Kings at # 3 so I guess it is an accurate placement for them, just not for the Mavs and Suns.

Yeah, but I think that the Heat should be 2 and then us 3 because Phoenix has been playing pretty poorly recently, and we have been playing very well (barring the spurs game).
