yeah Carons not a bad dunker, I dont really think hes dunk contest material though, but hey after Richard Jeffersons dunk contest performance, anything is possible
THE MAIN MAN THAT CAN SAVE THE DUNK CONTEST IS VINCE CARTER. He was the one that made dunk contest special but ever since he dint come bak the dunk contest was horrible... players that couldnt dunk were in it.. This year i hope Vince Carter and LeBron James participate.
LeBron James will have the spotlight on him and everyone will be very anxious to see what he will do. He will definitely save the dunk contest. His presence alone will make the dunk contest better than what it was last year. I would rather see James with a 1 foot 2 hander than see that ridiculous contest last year. Quite a dissapointment.
About J-Smoove being a game dunker, I agree that he's a game dunker but he can do stuff outside of games too, I mean remember when Bones won the dunk contest? What did he do? Jump from the free throw? J-Smoove is nuts, He put one through his legs in Spain when he was on a high school trip. I think Smith could take it. But here's who I'd like to see in the dunk contest. Josh Smith Dwyane Wade LeBron James Andre Iguodala/JR Smith
Vince Carter, I would love to watch him break an ankle and not be able to play in the all-star game.... But really, there needs to be some high profile names in this contest to bring it back to the glory days. You need to have people whom take it seriously, and are going to give it their all. I also think there needs to be more than just 4 people. 6 would work just as well, and also it would give the crowd more of what it wants, dunks. It would also force the participants to be more creative. Do you guys remember the year they used the "wheel"? That was pretty unique, not great, but unique. Maybe that could make a return? LeBron James, Ben Gordon, Andre Igoudala, J.R. Smith, Josh Smith are all players who should be there. Gerald Wallace would also be a great pickup, as well as D. Wade. He has great hops, and a whole lot of creativity.
I would really like to see: Fred Jones JR Smith Josh Smith Stromile Swift LeBron doesn't really impress me in dunk contests. I watched his high school one and he didn't really impress me, nothing creative and he can't really do anything spectacular in the air. I think that if we had a lineup of those four than this slam dunk contest would be memorable.
If you want to talk about unimpressive in highschool, take a look at Paul Pierce in the dunk contest. Impressive=Vince Cartre in the dunk contest
How about former winners vs. anybody under 3 years experience. This would allow the one man back into the mix to make the Dunk Contest exciting ... Vince Carter. Put the big name players back in the contest. Vince Carter - Kobe Bryant - J-Rich - Desmond Mason vs. LeBron James - Josh Smith - Dwayne Wade - Fred Jones Each round the two worst dunkers would be eliminated. The team who loses all 4 players first loses the team competition, and the winner of the final 2 wins the Dunk Contest.
Wade isn't a good contest guy, he can do windmills and some reverses, but he can't do all that fancy stuff, he's game dunker.
My ideal one would be.... Josh Smith JR Smith LeBron James Vince Carter I say, to hell with Fred Jones. The man was a fluke and only won cause JRich missed a dunk.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">THE MAIN MAN THAT CAN SAVE THE DUNK CONTEST IS VINCE CARTER</div> he never really "saved" it, he just set the standard ridiculously high. And i really don't see what other's do in Lebron's dunking, he just has mad ups (his windmills don't look as nice as some others). He's pretty good though, but i'd probably take JR over him. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Vince Carter - Kobe Bryant - J-Rich - Desmond Mason vs. LeBron James - Josh Smith - Dwayne Wade - Fred Jones Each round the two worst dunkers would be eliminated. But why the hell did the rules change in today's dunk contest? I thought the contests in the 80's were fine.
The dunkers today need to be more innovative, im sick of seeing through the legs and reverse jams every single year.
^the fact is.. nearly every single dunk has been tried, and the ones that haven't, are nearly impossible. There is a difference between NBA Live's dunk contest & Reality. It would be nice to see some of those being pulled off though
dunk contest If you want to see a real dunk contest find last years college dunk contest. Brought back my belief that a dunk contest can still have innovation and be fun to watch.

Its not exactly about how many times u can put the ball through ur legs, its about how difficult the dunk is or appears. Good dunks: Dominiques off the glass 1 hand slam. the way he finished it was so powerfull it looks like he was sitting on the ground touching his toes. and he was so far from the rim when he finished it he could only grab the rim with his fingertips. Vince carters two handed from thr freethrowline. That was his most amazing dunk. to appreciate the confidence he had in his jumping ability. with both hands on the ball either u finish it or u fall on ur azz. now a days every one finishes dunks so close to the rim, withoutslow motion cameras ur like what did he do? a great dunk is not about how many times u can put is through ur legs its about the beauty of the dunk that moment it was performed. if u dont wow the first tim u see it too me its garbage.
