this off season, there will be tons of good free agents. hopefully the sixers can sign some. if they can, what are the best fits? after all, the sixers don't even have a draft pick. this is the only way to get better. i doubt there isn't much value in player billy king wants to trade away. so, what free agents should they sign? be realistic.
I would love to see the Sixers pick up a decent rebounder who could come off the bench or possibly start. A nice shooter would be a good touch too. I don`t know the 76ers cap room though...
This is obvious. Glenn Robinson. I'm really surprised that there weren't 1,000,000 plus responses flying in with his name. People on these boards really just can't evaluate talent, can they?

What really need to go along with Popeye Jones( ) is a legitimate swingman and a decent rebounder. Some swingman?s that come to mind are Rashard Lewis and Corey Maggette type players. While we may most likely acquire neither of them, these are the type of players that we need to go after. We can then move Iguodala to SG, and have Korver come off the bench. And pending on the type of ?decent rebounded? we get, Thomas would also have to come off the bench and form a tandem with Jackson as the backup PF/C. We should also look to move Skinner as well.
So you're saying Thomas is getting 5,6 million to come off the bench......I think he's just in a slump this year. You know he has the ability to be a double double guy. And i don't know but how is it possible to sign a free agent like Rashard Lewis or Corey Maggette? We definitely don't have the money(or whatever that's called, too confusing)

We'll have some guys to resign are self as well so we are going to have to wait and see. There are some nice names out there this summer Shard and Ray Allen included, hopefully Billy K can get something done ot make us a better team.
now that it's the offseason, i'm bringing this post back up. so, who do you think the sixers should sign? (realisticly, remember, they aren't in cap relief and they still have to resign willie, korver, and sammy)
A greater post player would be nice. Players like Stromile Swift would be nice... To tell ya the truth I`m not familar of the big names in the FA market, can somebody tell me some?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">First priority is re-signing our free agents. That?s No. 1, keeping our young core intact and so that will be our first mission in hand.? - Billy King</div> <div align="center">Full Story</div> Seems likes Billy King must have heard you. He couldn't say it any better; it's good to see that keeping the young core together is his first priority at hand. But not naming our young players, there aren?t any notable free agents that we can sign. Webber and Iverson contracts are killers so there is no hope at sign a notable free agent that would have a major impact on his squad. But to be honest, I wouldn't be looking to sign any MAJOR free agent anyways because I really like this Webber and Iverson duo plus the young supporting cast that does the other things. And to bring another semi big name player would bump one of our young guys out the starting lineup which would hurt because quite frankly Iguodala and Korver are the best players you could put around Iverson in my opinion. Neither of them demands the ball and there is no other player in the league that has Iguodala athleticism and defense that does not demand the ball. If you find a player with Iguodala like attributes it?s more than likely he is a star player and he will demand the ball, and with Iverson and Webber on the court simultaneously we don?t need someone else that is going to want the ball in his hands. The only real thing I would like to see from Iguodala is his aggressiveness. He is a very strong player that can attack the rim and when left alone he can knock down the open shot. I for one believe he can create his own shot, but he always looks to pass first, but all in all I think he could be a great offensive player, but to that with Iverson on the court he needs to get a little more selfish. Korver on the other hand needs to be able to take the ball on the floor and just pull and pop because he can't rely on Iverson to create him a shot all the time. Just a little jab step wouldn?t hurt; anything that can create him some room for himself would be good. As for Sammy D he is going to have a great season next year, Webber will teach him and the two seem to be talking a lot with each other and like Dalembert said "When Webber gets back next season, we will be monsters on the board". The rotation was a backbreaker for us throughout the season and we never had a set game plan till late in the season but now that we have a set game plan and rotation our guys are going to get better.
If the Sixers could manage to find a swingman along the lines of a Maggette or so, that would be great...Korver needs to become the sixth man, hes not really starting material...he could be like a Dale Ellis or Dell Curry off the bench...the Sixers desperately need a backup PG...Jackson, Korver, Rogers and Salmons/davis makeup a decent bench...backup PG and a scoring/defensive swingman like a Maggette or Joe Johnson should be the Sixers priorities this offseason, along with re-signing Dalembert and Korver...
There's no way we will be able to sign a big name free agent like maggette, lewis, or ray allen. We don't have the cap space to do much of anything, and the best thing to do will be to spend it on keeping Dalembert, Korver, and Green.
