I doubt LeBron would Cleveland. Why in the world would he have a reason to? It looks as if the Cavs are going to be contenders for a long time, A. B, the Cavs will give LeBron all the money he wants or needs. C, there is no reason for him to leave his home town he is going to have a long successful career there, the only reason he needs to change team is if he wants to for the hell of it.

Both Jeff McInnis and Zydrunas Ilgauskas are free agents, along with Dajuan Wagner and DeSagna Diop. The following season Drew Gooden becomes a free agent. With the lack of big men in the league, Big Z is going to likely get a max deal from someone. Does Cleveland match it? If they do sign him, they reduce their cap space for the next 7 years. If they do not sign him, who replaces him? Last year when Jeff McInnis got injured the Cavs went into a slump and it cost them a playoff spot. This year the team is deeper, but again, will the Cavs invest in him and if not then who replaces him? With the bonehead move Paxson pulled with Boozer, how confident can the Cavs be in his ability to build a championship team?

lebron will never leave cleveland... dat his hometown!... money is definatley not a factor to him... hes gettin so much money with endorsements and he doesnt want to leave his family and mother.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">A lot of nimrods also believed Shaq would never play anywhere, but Orlando. </div> Not me, lol.
"LeBron will never leave Cleveland....blah....blah....blah....blah." Really? How do you know? Are you his left nut? Are you threatening testicular cancer if he leaves? He can earn much more in endorsements for leaving Cleveland than he would by staying in Cleveland. Money talks. We'll see if LeBron opts to listen in '07.
Lebron can either stay in cleveland and get a max deal, Or he can go to Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles where he wont get a max contract but well get much more money in endorsements as was stated in a article. I see Lebron going to the Bulls to try and be the Next 23 around such young great and young talent, That team will prosper. Theres a good chance he will leave and a chance that hell stay. Its all up to his agent and him. But to reach his full potential in Marketing and Fame he'll have to leave.
I don't think so. I wouldn't think LeBron would want to live in the shadow of Jordan. He might though who knows? I think he'll stay in Cleveland but, I'm not making any gauruntees.
Lebron's just too valuable to go anywhere. Notice how some of the hall of famers played for only one team: Jordan, Magic, Stockton, Bird, Russell, etcetera. Add Lebron's name to that list when he retires.

Then the problem he will face will be a small market team trying to build a team around him. Even with the hype surrounding LeBron in his rookie season, the former owner, Gordon Gund was LOSING money, and lots of it. He lost so much money, he decided to sell the team. Is the new owner going to lose millions of dollars so LeBron can get a ring? I would guess no.

Add Lebron's name to that list when he retires.</div> There was no salary cap during the time Magic, Bird, Stockton, Russell, and Jordan paid. Teams could pay a player what ever they wanted and not face having to pay a luxury tax. The NBA also wasn't as popular and it focused more on marketing teams instead of individuals. Magic & Bird were the first players the league marketed, and then Jordan became the face of basketball in the mid-80's. The NBA simply didn't generate the money it does now, and the international exposure is 100 times greater today than it was two decades ago. In the current NBA all players 'explore' their options and enter the free agent frenzy to maxmize their earning potential. LeBron has to get all he can when he becomes a free agent, because he's likely to sign a 7 year deal. As great a player as LeBron is, he's one injury away from not being able to EVER play another game. When that happens, the endorsement deals disappear, the fame disappears, and he becomes another "what-if" athlete.
Lebron will head for the lights like a moth into light or a single male towards an attractive blonde. Money talks these days and Chicago, LA and Knicks have lots of it. Cleveland wont be able to hold onto lebron foreva. Unless the cavaliers can somehow get some great players around Lebron he will have many reasons to head to the bright lights (NY,LA,Chicago). 1.Money from endorsements. 2.Club with lots of history 3. CHAMPIONSHIP why did shaq move to LA? wanted a championship. full stop. Money was there as well and he made a good move. Lebron will want to move even if he does live in ohio. money talks, championships talk. Id like to see Lebron coached by Phil Jackson. Hows that. Phil has coached Jordan and Kobe already and he may even coach Lebron! The one thing to watch out will be the end of this season and watch what happens with Chicago, LA and the Knicks and see if the knicks make salary cap room, chicago keeps their salary cap space and if LA has any interest in the deal. Lebron will move. Cleveland is just to small for him. Maybe he wont if cleveland picks up their game and gets some real talented players around him. He may want to play in chicago or ny, we dont know. all that we can do is wait and see......
I think the whole thing about moving to a big city for a championship doesnt make alot of sense.I disagree that shaq moved to LA cause he wanted a championship.Orlando was a top championship contending team while he was there, but they didnt get one because their ownership was too dumb to realize they needed to do everything possible to keep him. You know cleveland will match any offer Lebron gets.I dont see why hed want to go to an organization that has no idea how to assemble a cohesive team(Knicks).Hes not going to want to go play with Kobe.If he did it would be Lebron,Kobe, and a bunch scrubs getting payed the league minimum.I suppose Chicago has the most legit chance of acquiring him out of the 3 mentioned. They have alot of promising young talent and they should have the cap space.I still see it as teams having a hard time luring him from Cleveland, and not Cleveland having a hard time keeping him.Plus,im psychic.Cleveland will put up a shrine of Lebron at the end of his career.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">Really? How do you know? Are you his left nut? no way LeBron aint goin no where. He is playing close to his family, they will be able to offer him as much if not more money than anyone else, he will get the same endorsement there as he will get anywhere else and by the time his contract is up chicago will have be spending the money on hinrich, deng, and gordon. Not happening.

Man I'm just happy that this is the honor of being a rumor. LeBron will be a top player in the league and for it to even be considered coming to my Knicks? Wow, it probably wont because he will get no playing time behind the true superstar and already better than Jordan, Tim Thomas. Because he is so young perhaps when Tim Thomas ends his career of superstardom, he can get some valuable minutes.
Im surprised he would even consider comming to NewYork Tim Thomas would just overshadow him. He may end up feeling like Penny or Kobe under Shaq.
