The NFL has informed Mike Nolan that his plan to wear a suit on game day is unacceptable....there was once a time when all coaches wore suits....in fact, the NBA requires all coaches to wear them today, and they require you keep the jacket on during the game....this is the dumbest thing ever....I cant believe that we are at a point in which a coach cant coach in a damn suit....

i hate how the NFL does that they fine people for their shirts not tucked in etc etc. Now they are telling coachs what to wear, i dont understand is there a rule telling coachs what to wear. This is pretty dumb...

I love it. Conformity is the first step to obedience. Any player that is so hell bent on sticking out, is not really a team player and you dont want that player.

well if the player forgets to tuck in his shirt you shouldnt fine him thats kinda dumb. Also do u agree with them not letting Nolan wear a suit i mean thats the thing that just really annoys me, coachs should at least where whatever they want.

It is not like there has been a set way for coaches to dress.

All those years Tom Landry roamed the sideline in a suit... This is just lame. Nolan shouldn't have even asked. He should have just showed up for the first game wearing it.

So are you saying that the NFL are trying to copy the NBA? That's just plain stupid if you ask me.

no, the exact opposite. NBA makes it mandatory to wear suits. NFL disallows it

Dress codes are ridiculous but then conformity, playing by the rules, & coloring inside the lines is just something that I've never been (nor want to be) good at doing.

Does anyone else see the irony in NBA coaches having to dress up while they oversee a bunch of thugs & hooligans?

All Righty then! I can't see you going all formal like Kurt Cobain did on Headbanger's Ball once. Though, I can see you in a Tommy Bahamas shirt & Tutu like Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura.
