Celtics go into Chicago and come away with a 101-97 win.
Great win by the team after a tough game the night before against Phoenix.

Couple things I felt were worth mentioning:
    - I like the fact that Paul didn't force his shot. CLEARLY, not his night. But, even though he was only 2-12, none of the 12 were horrendous or out of the flow of the game. Just give credit to the Bulls for great defense and not letting him get himself going. Plus, he was clutch from the free throw line and did enough of everything else to really make his presence felt, like the great ones always do.
    - I do question why the Celtics didn't look to Blount more. I know that we all kill him on this site, but he was 3-3 in the first, had a quick 8 points but then didn't shoot for the rest of the night. He was open for the jumpshot against the zone and they never ran the play for him.
    - Nice move by Doc to get the ball to Ricky in the last few minutes. The Bulls brought the double so that Gordon wouldn't foul out and a great job by Davis to have his head up and find the open GP.
    - Very smart play by Raef at the end of the game with the C's up three and less than 10 seconds left: Duhon drove the lane looking for the quick 2 and Raef mistakenly gave the foul, but he recovered quickly and put in the extra bit of effort to make sure that he also got enough of the ball that it didn't keep heading towards the rim. Bad to give up the foul, but great to stop it from also being and 1.

Nice win for the C's to keep first place in the Atlantic and try to get to .500 by the All-Star break.

    C's Break Bulls Home Streak

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The game started on a somewhat ominous tone, when at only the 10:15 mark, the Bulls threw an alley-oop to Curry overtop a post-fronting Mark Blount. 4-2 Bulls. However, the Celtics took a 10-9 lead at 7:19, on a Blount 10fter, which gave him 6 for the game already.

There are few things in basketball that are more upliftingly comedic and encouraging than when someone from the other team blows a dunk. Eddie Curry provided that moment around the 6:20 mark, when he was challenged by Raef and took off from farther than he could reach from. He was stuffed by the rim.</div>

As it turns out, According to Doc, Perkins wasn't ejected for the foul. He let loose verbally on the Refs, which is what got him tossed. Doc said it was a doosy. [IMG]

good game celts. that GP three with a couple mins left hurt hurt the bulls. there were questionable calls against both teams that made the game a little hard to watch(no flow). i knew it would be tuff beating boston after their last loss. Nice win.

Also, how great is it to beat the hottest team in the league with Pierce shooting so poorly? On top of that, without Al Jefferson.

The guy is only good at two things. Making weird faces, and shooting mid-range jumpshots. One of them he has covered, the other needs to be explored more often.

Duhon ain't exactly Manute Bol, so his shot can't be too hard to block, especially a shot he takes while being pushed away from the rim. I'll take my chances any day sending a rookie to the line down 3 in crunch time.

I like it, shows that the kid is becoming more confident. He seemed hesitant to call out the refs last year and even early this year. GP must be wearing on him.

That win in Chicago was exactly the kind of win Im looking forward to seeing more of in the second half of this year......especially sweet win being we didnt have Al J. and Pierce had a bad shooting night...........The Truth showed how valuable he is though, even with a bad shooting night he pulls down 15 boards, got to the line, and hit clutch free throws down the stretch.
.............Ricky Davis down the stretch was IMMENSE, taking it right to Ben Gordon and any other Bull ...hit real big shots.....I love Perkins toughness, If thats all he gives us, hes very valuable...this team needs at LEAST one tough guy presence...
When Payton is active and involved in the offense, this team wins most of the time.
