For one game, at least. We need to see if he's still capable of stepping up his game. After all, he may end up being the main shooting guard in Seattle next year, not Ray. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Sonics head coach Nate McMillan was in Raleigh, N.C., yesterday to be with his mother, who is gravely ill. Top scorer Ray Allen missed practice because of the flu. Whether McMillan will be back for tonight's game against San Antonio was undecided yesterday, and Allen's status for tonight was equally unclear. But amid those concerns and questions, one apparent certainty at the Sonics' practice: The Spurs were headed to town with a bur in their britches after losing two games to Seattle this season. If I remember correctly, he had a big game against the Spurs late last season, including a major throw-down on Rasho Nesterovic. If Ray is out, I don't see the harm in starting Flip, giving him 30 minutes and telling him to play his natural scoring game. Particularly if Dwayne Casey is coaching this one.
I hope he will get his 30 minutes! And I really hope he delivers, maybe then Iron Shiek will be little bit happier for a day....or two.
If he gets the minutes he'll produce, bottom line. I don't think that it going to happen though, especially considering that Dwayne is coaching. He wouldn't want to be the one to break the rotation even if Ray can't go. That would have to be Nate's call.
Flip has mad game.. no doubt about it, he's not afraid to drive the lane and throw it down on a big man, you got to respect that. if he works on his 3 pt shot (which i guess would make him a true Sonic these days ha) then the guy can easily average 20 a game, though a little selfish, still very valueable... and if you guys can somehow keep Ray, you need Flip's stock to be high so you can trade him for a big man that can score.. which is what the Sonics desperately need.
Nate and Ray are officially out. No word on Ray's replacement. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Sonics will be hard-pressed to repeat those results tonight, however, as they play without star guard Ray Allen, who is suffering from a viral infection. Allen is one of five Sonics players who had played in every game this season, and three who had started all 42 and averaged 26.5 points and rang up nine three-pointers in the first two games against the Spurs. Coach Nate McMillan is also out this evening after suffering personal tragedy when his mother passed away yesterday evening. McMillan has returned to his native North Carolina and will miss this game and tomorrow's battle in Sacramento. Associate Head Coach Dwane Casey will assume the reins for those two games. Casey is 1-1 replacing McMillan, losing earlier this month in L.A. to the Clippers. Insider Preview</div>
38 minutes, 5/17 shooting, five turnovers, while Rashard took only nine shots (although I'm sure Bruce Bowen had something to do with that). Obviously he's rusty, but I wouldn't call that definite production, particularly with Ginobili having a good game. Anyone know if Ray is back for Sacramento?
Flip hasn't looked in sync with the offense all year, like he doesn't even know the plays or where other guys are - bumping into his teammates, passing where they aren't... It seems he has to iso his man and break him down (which he is very good at) in order to score, which I'm sure is at odd's with Nate.

Does Flip have any kind of midrange game?As of now what does his offensive arsenal consist of?All ive really seen him do is take it to the basket.
