Here's the ones I could think of at the moment:

    1. Vince on Weiss (I mean,really...)
2.Iverson's slam after somebody's missed shot(a lot of respect, those were 7 -footers down there -al's rookie season)
3.MJ's fadeaway over Byron r. (it was a push, and I don't like mj but credit is due.)
4.Ming getting dunked on by nikagbatse(on the wc in indianapolis),ming falling after steph's crossover.....
    5.ray on t-mac in the playoffs 01'...nasty
    6.Al's crossover on mj
    7.J-will on payton (rookie season)
8.Mj - barkley battle in the finals 93'
    9.Kj on the Dream....
Be free to add some more if you think there are better plays(which I may forgot).
AS for the best crossover, tim Hardaway had a great crossover,al's good,steph,j-will,tj ford,tinsley....

What Carter did to wise was unbelieveable. I also think what Allan Houston did to the Lakers back in 02-03 was priceless. Also Ray on T-Mac was nasty. AI to Tyronne Lue was pretty good. What spiced up the series is the fact he stepped over him. Iverson on Marcus Camby was incredible. There are tons more but, I wouldn't call them the best probably just recent favorites.

We are talking about plays right? Derek Fishers shot has to be up there.

You mean the one where he carried the ball?

Best has to be Carter over Weis...In NBA History, probably Matt Bonner's 18 footer that went in during the 2nd quarter versus the Celtics.

^^LOL, giving some love for Bonner huh? its amazing how hes not on the top rookie rankings on nba.com and he wasn't selected to play in the rookie challenge.
back on-topic, i'll say anything on VC's highlight film is a great play. of course the one that stands out the most is carter over the eiffel tower

Dunk: Vince on Mutombo in his rookie season
Game Winner: Vince's game winning 3 pointer from the corner versus the Celtics
Layup: Jordan's Up and Under versus the Lakers in the 1991 finals.
    Crossover: Francis schooling Troy Hudson

My favorite recent play was when TJ Ford did a bouce alley-oop to Desmond Mason against Orlando. That was amazing. It's such a shame TJ may never play again.

Even though its just a flashy play that had no game winning significance or anything,VC leap froging france's Freddy Weiss was and still is unfathomable. The play also has deeper meaning for myself, france plays games with USA and ends up looking foolish.Ohhh how I dislike the french...

THE MOVE: Jordan goes up for the dunk at the top of the key with the right hand. hangs a bit, then passes the ball to his left while floating a little more then decides to put the ball in the hoop. want a great retelling of the story, ask Magic he would know!

MJ against the knicks: drive left and gets double teamed then turns to go right then goes bak on his left with a crossover and dunks it in Patrick Ewings FACE

Also dont forget shaq breakin the backboard, it mightnt of been a move but BOY DID HE BRING THE HOUSE DOWN

I have to say that jumping over a 7 footers head is incredible, I've only seen it done once.

I honestly don't know why so many people like that play so much. It can't beat what he did to the Nets. It was impressive how he made so many turns and adjustments in mid-air.

The best comeback had to be a Knick Rally on the Bucks. Both of them for that matter! [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You mean the one where he carried the ball?</div> lol bad officiating, of course it was Air Jordan so how many times are you gonna call a foul, or a carry for that matter. Used to be my favorite play regardless, because of what it meant for me. MJ kinda ruined when he came back(yet again). Now one of my favorites wasn't really a play. But watching Mutombo crying and making love to the hardwood after we knocked off the 8th seeded Sonics.

How about when Dr. J went from one side of the hoop and "flew" to the other side and layed it up?

I'm a big fan of the Hakeem play against the the Spurs in the Western Conference finals where he went one way, showed Robinson the ball, got him to jump out the gym and went under him for the layup.

Vince Carter Leap Frog over France 7'2 center frederic weis!!!!! shit that was amazing!

but the greatest play in nba history is in my opinion, Reggie Miller drivin baseline, is going to lay it up for two to tie the game against the pistons in the EC finals. out of nowhere comes Tayshaun Prince and rejects it so bad that u could see reggie cry in the air, Rip hamilton got the ball before it went out of bounds and the pistons won:D

    Block: Tayshaun's block on Reggie
    Steal: Bird's steal of course
    Assist: Can't think of one
LayUp: AI's reverse layup off the alley oop when he was falling from Tim Thomas
Shot: MJ's game winner against the Cavs
Alley-Oop: Grant Hill's left handed and 1 on the fast break while he was a Piston
Dunk: Julius on I think it was Mychal Thompson
Cross-Over: ANy Tim Hardaway one or Carlos Arroyo's on A-Stat in the Olympics

    my fave

Julius Erving jumping across the key holding the ball out of bounds and finishing. Amazing.
As ESPN.com describes it: "Erving receives the ball on the right side of the court, and he beats Mark Landsberger to the baseline. Cradling the ball, he rises toward the rim. Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar moves quickly to block Erving's path, looking to slam the shot away, alter it, or at least foul Erving and send him to the line.

But Erving keeps gliding in midair, sliding beyond Abdul-Jabaar and improvising as he goes. He carries himself to the other side of the rim, the left corner of the backboard, from where he can reach his long right arm back toward the basket and then he somehow, someway, flip in a reverse layup. The move stuns everyone in the arena and ultimately helps the Sixers knock off L.A., 105-103.

"I couldn't believe my eyes," says Lakers guard Magic Johnson, whose mouth actually dropped after witnessing Erving's basket. "It's still the greatest move I've ever seen in a basketball game, the all-time greatest"
