Don't know how much of truth is in this, but: <div class="quote_poster">Quoting "via RealGM":</div><div class="quote_post">From Chad Ford's weekly "Good, Bad and the Upside": We've made the bad list, largely becuase of Rafer's suspension and the subsequent turmoil. One NBA GM said that if someone is willing to swallow his contract, there's a very good chance Rafer won't end his season in Toronto. He also said that while Rafer's got the talent, he's not sure Babcock knew what he was in for (alluding to Rafer's attitude). The GM concluded by saying that if we package him with Donyell, then there's a good chance someone will bite.</div>
No doubt if he's packaged with Marshall, it will be a good trade for somebody, but is it really worth it? I mean, we signed him for so much, and its only(yea, I know, not "only") been two - albeit two relatively big - incidents. THe first one, I never thought anything of, but this one seems to be alot bigger thanlast time(or are we blowing it out of proportion?) All in all, trying to remain as unbiased as possible, I think this will be a chance if Rafer's behaviour becomes an issue for a third time. But...I really hope nothing happens to Rafer. I think he's bgetting a bit too much flak for this one issue.

Unless Babcock is sure he can get someone like Felton with our pick, I wouldn't deal him. Right now, even though the contract is lengthy...In this market, it's a bargain to have a PG like Skip for the amount he's getting paid. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But...I really hope nothing happens to Rafer. Don't know the exact wording, but you know what I mean.
Rafers been cool, and i think he and Mitchell and resolve thier problems over a dinner or a meeting with rafer, babcock, and mitchell
I wouldn't think this is true unless we can get a real goodpg in return....Alston fits out run and gun system perfectly
Hmmm...I dunno but if he does get traded I think he could help the Rockets, and Donyell too? that'd be great, too bad we don't have anything we can give you guys haha
I saw that there is something with Baron Davis for D-Marsh, E.Williams and Skip' I want this trade. if it will work- we get again Superstar in this town.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Proz4k:</div><div class="quote_post">I saw that there is something with Baron Davis for D-Marsh, E.Williams and Skip' I want this trade. if it will work- we get again Superstar in this town.</div> first is this a legimate source...any links? second, it may take a while, but i'm not sure if baron davis is a good fit here...he is athletic with no doubt, but he doesn't look durable...and yes it would be nice to get a superstar back in the line up, but it doesn't do the raps any good if he can't play healthy during the season...we may be looking at another VC where that's concerned... but if the trade include magloire and davis, hands down i would do that blind folder (like mo pete's layup the other day
I think that we shouldn't get hasty. If Skip can use some restraint and only take smart shots, then we wouldn't have this discussion any more. I think Rafer has more potential to become a better team player than Baron would be for the Raptors. I wouldn't do it for baron, b/c baron is injury prone in so many ways. I think he has back, knee, and an assortment of other injuries. I'd love to get Magloire, however I don't think trading Rafer would be a smart decision. I have no reason to believe that this cannot be resolved. If we were to trade him we would need to get a good return. Steve Nash & Amare for Milt & Woods
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Proz4k:</div><div class="quote_post"> I want this trade. if it will work- we get again Superstar in this town.</div> really? you want another injury prone player who camps outside and shoots too much? didnt you get sick of that when vince was here? baron has been MORE injury prone then vince...id HATE to see him in a raptors uni. plus he's got a HUGE contract..id rather put a max contract towards bosh, and keeping him around bosh is about a season or two away from being a superstar himself...so just be patient
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SkiptoMyLue11:</div><div class="quote_post">Steve Nash & Amare for Milt & Woods</div> Heh..
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Steve Nash & Amare for Milt & Woods</div> That's a pretty good one, we'd have to add someone other players to match the contracts, but the Suns would definately do it.
^ What other PG would Toronto want? I see Alston being perfect for the Raptors but, his attitude is not so good.
i'm certain the raptors will draft a pg this offseason, maybe even package both picks this year for the best pg on the board. drafting a pg will crowd the pg position with alvin coming back and times might get more chaotic with rafer next season. the other day coming home from school i caught an interview on the fan 590 with rafer's high school coach, he revealed some fascinating details like that rafer was ticked off that they choose damon jones over him in miami and being stomped on by the heat didn't ease his already fragile state of mind. fyi, feschuk wrote an article on monday detailing rafer's troublesome past.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">In my mind their is no more Alvin Williams </div> same with me..
alvin's a good guy, but c'mon man, you're not contributing much. I do wanna see how he performs after this surgury though. If he still doesn't have a lot of his old movement, I'd like to see him stop playing, but keep a position within the raptors organization. we all know rafer can be a good pg. He just needs to work the kinks out. It's up to babcock and mitchell (and rafer of course) to make sure he fits and doens't explode.
At least Rafer's explosions are for decent enough reasons. He's one of the few players who actually wants to live up to his contract and he gets a little too passionate about it sometimes. I think we should stick with him, cuz if we show him some trust he'll definitely play better for us. Loyalty from his teams has been the one thing that he's never had since he's been in the NBA (all of his old teams dumped him when his contract was up).
