    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">James at number one already, Avery?</div>

Yes. The way he turned this franchise around is completely amazing. It's harder than you think to turn a franchise around that had such a losing atmosphere surrounding it for so long. But yet, this 20 year old kid playing in just his second year has took average players and making them play at their best and at the same time revived a winning aura around the Gund Arena.

Jeff McInnis and Drew Gooden are having career years. Zydrunasis Ilgauskas is opening many eyes. And how many people actually knew who Ira Newble was until this season? So to be concise the way he's impacted this team and the LEAGUE for that matter is simply amazing.

When MVP talks are in discussion, seven out of ten people would probably pick Nash over James. However, when you look on paper, the Suns already had amazing talent in Stoudemire, Marion and Johnson. So when you added Steve Nash and Richardson to that equation you would expect this team to do this well (just not this well). But the Suns improving the way they have would be by far much more expected opposed to this Cleveland Cavalier team. And how can Nash be a MVP when he's such a huge liability on the defense end? LeBron can also be vulnerable on the defensive end, but not nearly as much as Nash is. Now I don?t want to get into a whole discussion with who should be MVP, Nash or Lebron. Again the way LeBron plays/changed this game and winning attitude that he?s brought to this team should be glorified with an MVP award.

    --

Btw, I think Allen Iverson is ranked pretty low on many people lists. He's having a better year than his MVP year, believe it or not. And as much as I think this 76ers team is good, Allen Iverson is doing something pretty much out of nothing.

I understand with what you're saying Avery. That's why I listed LeBron above T-Mac and Kobe, for many of those reasons. Although he's not a very good defender right now like them, he's a better team player along with many other things.

I don't want to get into the whole MVP thing either, but just look at the Suns record without Steve Nash in the lineup, and games where he left the game. That should help his MVP case.

A lot of very good points, Avery. He has turned that whole city and franchise around, there is no doubt about that. Without James, no one on the Cavaliers would be any good, so yes, he is a huge impact player.

I still can't say that he is number one in the whole League when you have Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. But, give him a couple years to bring up his defensive skills and just keep honing in on his skills, and I am sure I will be agreeing with you.

As for the MVP thing, I do have James as mine this year. Nash is having a great year, but he is loaded with so much talent. You could probably throw Tyronn Lue on that team and he would be having an amazing year. And people use the argument, "Look what the Suns can't do without Nash." I dare you to take James off the Cavaliers for the same amount of time, and see how they do.

I know, I know, I was just trying to prove my point. Which is that any decent point guard would be striving on that Suns team right now.

Outside the top 15 or even the top 10 it becomes very close to call, you can go a lot ways, and yes I know I left out Elton Brand, Richard Hamilton, Ben Wallace etc ..... that's what I meant by being very close to call.

Yo og15, man you do know you left Shawn Marion ....... I was surprised to see that from you. You don't think he is?

I usually don't like to openly criticize, but how do you put Marion as number one in the League? I mean, I wouldn't even consider him top ten. He barely made my top twenty list. He has some amazing dunks, and great defense, but he is in no way number one material. Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, and Dirk Nowitzki all should come before him. If you could get to talk to Marion, and asked him if he was the best player in the League, I bet even he would say no.

Also, Tesh15, do you honestly as an unbiased fan think that Vince Carter is better than Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant? He may be fascinating on the highlight reel, but when you look at his overall attitude to the game, I really don't think he deserves it. I can tell he is your favorite player, and that is fine, but I think you have taken it too far.

Maybe I am the mistaken one. Is this list supposed to be the top twenty in the League skill-wise, or our favorite players?

I was a little confused myself at both scenario's, Marion is at best between 15-20, and Vince isn't even close to #1, he's between 18-20 if he would be in the top 20.

I guess some people just can't get over the bias....and maybe odde23's list was for fantasy basketball
