yes the dreaded NFC east with the dreaded Philadelphia Eagles. for the last few years, they ahve been the highlight of the NFC until a few weeks before the big game. that ends this year. i expect them to completely unload on all teams this year. they got a feel for big game last year and should be even more ready for it this year. hopefully things work out with TO/Mcnabb/ the westbrook situation, etc. also, if the redskins could work their offense a little bit more, theyd be a hunormous threat. i dont see the giants getting anywhere with Eli at helm, theyll be lucky to win 5 games. Philadelphia Dallas Washington New York
Philly will again take the division, but it won't be as easy. I'm going to stop short of saying the Eagles are falling apart, but most outside of Philly will say that there were many NFC teams that improved themselves more than the Eagles.
The Eagles are the Packers two seasons ago. It's only a matter of time (as I believe the Packers will be rebuilding next season). The Eagles have peaked and will be on the way down very soon. It will be interesting which team turns around faster, the Cowboys or Giants. Both have had good offseasons so far.
Parcells finally has his defense back on track, and he will use Julius to pound the ball this year. I see them winning 10 games and slipping into the wild card spot. No doubt in my mind though that Philly will take the division this year. They just have too many guys in their prime, and are just too talented and well coached to not win it this year.
Im a giants fan. Have to do with them every year. Giants- Eli has someone to throw to philly- I just hate them cowboys- Theyre rebuilding redskins- they dont have a good QB
Philly will win but Dallas will give them a run for their money. They had a great draft and they will turn it around this year. Washington is a lost hope they dont know what they are doing. And the Giants are improving, but they've got a couple years till they will really compete for the division. I really dont think this is Philly's year though i dont think they will win and if they dont win this year it'll be a while... but there is some bias in that i really dont like them. but as SF said they've really peaked and they'll be rebuilding in a couple of years
Man everyone is being hard on the giants let me try to convince some of you why the GIANTS will win the division. Eli will make mistakes, there is no question about that but I beleive that with and arsenal like Shockey, Burress, Toomer, Barber. There is no way this offense will not be in the top 15 in the league. The Giants made 2 key signings this year for the offensive line. They signed Kareem Mackenzie to a 7 year deal, he is realy a good young player who just keeps on improving. And they brought in veteran Bob Whitfield from Atlanta for veteran leadership and to back up.

I just don't see them being consistent enough. Eli improved at the end of last year and will continue to do so. I'm still not sure how high his upside is, though. This will be a key year for him. A big concern of mine is the running back situation. I think Tiki is a good player, but the fact that he is 30 should start to be a concern. Yes, he had a great year last year, but for the last three years, he has averaged 300 carries a year, plus all the catches he has. At some point, I would want to get a viable backup to spell him a little more, as well as someone to come in if he is hurt. I think that is Mike Cloud now, which doesn't appeal to me. Burress should add a new dimension to the offense and help improve Toomer too. Shockey is a threat, but I don't expect him to be any better. Mackenzie was a good pickup. Overall, I see their offense improving and their defense slipping. If they don't stay healthy and continue to get pressure from their front 4, they will be in trouble.
I'd go with Philly, Washinton, Dallas, Giants...though if washington's defense can play as well as they did last season and they get Portis on track a little more to open up the passing game I really think they could be a wild card team and do damage in the playoffs...I'm sorry cowboy fans...but I need to see bledsoe do something before I believe...haha
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pats37)</div><div class='quotemain'>I'm sorry cowboy fans...but I need to see bledsoe do something before I believe...haha</div> Pats, I know you had a "haha", but since we have no Bills fans here, you are as close of a Bledsoe expert as we have. Serious question. In your opinion, what does Bledsoe have to do in order for Dallas to succeed? He was not brought in with the idea of carrying the team, but rather to drive the bus. Can he do it? Bledsoe made his fair share of mistakes in New England and Buffalo, and he had his strengths and weaknesses. I think he did a fair job of succeeding in those two places, but his performance was enhanced when a good team was around him. Dallas isn't New England, but IF (big if) Dallas had a decent team around him, can he do the job? He tries to make too many big plays, especially when behind (see Vinny 2004), and he is as mobile as I would be back there. But if the OL line has improved their protection and the running game continues to be the focus of the team, where does that leave us at QB? My opinion is that if New England was an elite team with him, and Brady actually put them over the top, then he still seems like a decent guy for the job. Of course, I'd trade for Brady or 10 other QBs even up .

Don't get me wrong I have a soft spot for Bledsoe but it just seems like he can't come up big in big games any more...I mean he had a nice little run last season but then folded against Pitt without some of their starters...and had plenty of defense and a running game..he just isn't an efficiant QB and for whatever reason his decision making ability when down the drain after his first few seasons in NE...but the wild card is parcells...he got him going in the right direction as a kid but can he right all the bad habits that developed since? I'm just not sure about it and think it could be a huge question mark...basically for him to be successfull they have to keep more than just 5 in protection at pretty much all times because he loves to look down field and wait for the big play...going underneath or hitting a back out of the backfield just aren't his strong point...but honestly there is nothing that I would want to see more than a rejuvinated bledsoe go off for 4,000 yards and shock the bird in the NFC east this year...then eventually lose to the Pats in the SB...hehe I had to throw the last part in there...couldn't resist.

OK. Maybe elite was a little excessive. However, the Patriots were a much better team than their 5-11 record indicated, although much of that was due to the poor performance of Pete Carroll and his staff. Its not much different than their 9-7 season a couple years later when they missed the playoffs in between superbowl seasons. As for the 0-2 start the year he was replaced, that's typical for NE isn't it? With 2004 as the exception, even the good years start out slow in the first third of the season. I will totally agree with you that he has been lacking something in his big games. Of course, Dallas hasn't had too many big games lately, so just getting to one of those would be nice. I actually watched that last game against Pitt. Scoring 24 against their second string defense wasn't great, but giving up 29 against their backup defense didn't help either. Buffalo also had to have double digit penalties in that game. To your point, the biggest thing that concerned me about him in that game was the pressure in the pocket. He took too many sacks. Its interesting to note that his best years rating-wise were typically when he was used frequently, but not to the point of carrying the team. I know that if Dallas is relying on Bledsoe to carry the load, we are in trouble. Whether or not that comes into play remains to be seen, but that wasn't the intention anyway. As a side note, Dallas will be using more double TE sets this year with the return of our blocking TE Dan Campbell, so maybe the 5+ blocking scheme you referred to might be a fit.
I agree that the Giants won't do that well, but it's time for Eli to take charge and I think they might be as decent as a 8-8 team. And Philidelphia will be the division winners again...
Oddly enough, Cowboys QB Coach David Lee was just on ESPN Dallas and made the comment that "Holding the ball too long will not be a problem for Bledsoe... Parcells will see to that" Maybe their ears were burning.

At the same time most of his games that I watch in full were against the pats and more than a couple QB's have left shaking their head..

But they drafted the guy who used to play at auburn then transfered because of cadillac and Ronnie Brown. All I know is that he is HUGE guy. He may be that 3rd down solution we needed. Shockey is Eli's main target. He can't stop looking at him which is bad but he is going to get the ball this year.
