<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brookesy348:</div><div class="quote_post">yao ming doesnt deserve the start over amare, hes been playing center this season and has put up some big numbers, yao ming has he largest country (by population) voting for him, that is the only reason he is starting. The west should be, Amare, Duncan, Garnett, Tmac and Kobe from C to PG.</div> Exactly, All Star game is for fans by fans, so get over it
Just curious as to why people think Allen should get the nod over McGrady. Tracy's averaging more points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks and has a better FG percentage. Allen's only advantages are in FT%, 3P%, and averages like .2 less turnovers.
^ I'm guessing because his team is doing better, I wouldn't really say he should, Tmc's defense has also improved this season, and in terms of individual play, Tmac is playing better than Ray. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao Ming- The big name 5 left in the west. TD and KG are not C's they are PF's who have redefined the 4 spot. Amare Stoudamire is not a center. He can run center on the Suns every once in awhile because most of their points come from the break.</div> Run center once in a while? He starts at center, and plays about all his minutes at center, I wouldn't consider that "once in a while".
The offense the Suns run I guess allows for that. You put him on any half court team he's playing the 4. You can talk about Amare and his great year, but until he proves to me it wasn't all because of Steve Nash, I still think Shawn Marion is better than Stoudamire. He won't be able to prove that until 06 if he decides to sign with another team.

Why do people keep saying Amare hasn't proved he can score without Nash there? didn't people watch the NBA last season?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao Ming- The big name 5 left in the west. Even Shaq himself says that Duncan is a Center.

I hear it over and over again about this Nash made Amare, or Amare needs Nash, and I just wonder what happened to Amare's performance last season, I guess it just dissapeared. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The offense the Suns run I guess allows for that. This was with Leandro Barbosa at PG, I don't know what else he has to prove to anyone. His season numbers were 20.6 points and 8.6 rebounds or so last season, I guess everyone blots that out when they check his numbers or something.
I think Amare and Nash should start in the West, with T-mac, Duncan, and Dirk. In the East it should be Wade, Iverson, LBJ, Jermaine O'neal, and Shaq. I don't know why people think Grant Hill or Yao should start. Yao has not had a great year.
