Why does everyone on this site seem to hate and knock on LBJ? Every time there is a thread where he is so much as mentioned it turns into an LBJ hate fest. For example the top 20 players in the NBA thread where almost no one had him in the top five. I commented and people slammed me. same thing in the MVP thread. Really why does everyone hate him? because hes talanted? Because he skipped college? because people call him the next jordan? can someone give me a logical explanation? You gotta face the facts LBJ is a top 3 player in the NBA. (im not going to bother trying to rank him duncan and garnett because LBJ plays a different position so you cant compare) He is sixth in ppg, 2nd in spg, 4th in assists, 6th in efficeincy (just behind 3,4,5), shoots nearly 50% from the floor as a swingman averages 25, 7, 7 (only four players in NBA history have done it Bird, Havlichek (2), Jordan and the Big O (6 times) plus on top of all that he is leading a team that would be atrocious without him to within a game and a half of the second seed in the east. So please stop you're hating and lend LeBron some love.
Well I don't hate him. I think I would like him more if everyone wasn't riding his jock so much. I mean come on. He's a great player but, I have heard too many ridiculous things from him. He is overhyped too so people can get tired of that. That dunk on Jones was SERIOUS[/B] and it was evidence of what is to come but, the attention that he gets does draw some people away from him. I mean before he came out of HS people were already riding. I don't hate him and both of us want him to become a Knick. James will most likely be a superstar for many years to come. People just don't like the attention homie. It seperates it from other stars like Wade, and Sweetney. I don't hate James homie. I respect him as a player and is a nice guy off the court too. He is just overhyped, and too many people are on his meat. That's all.
I don't know what you're talking about, I was looking in the Top 20 thread, and looking at the first page: NTC187 - Lebron James #4 authentiq - Lebron James #5 og15 - Lebron James #5 Pure - Lebron James #5 Banks - Lebron James #5 bigsheldy -Lebron James #5 Chungster - Lebron James #5 pigpen - Lebron James #6 Avery - Lebron James #1 AA13 - Lebron James #4 Linkin - Lebron James #3 Andrew23226 - Lebron James #3 Kobe 8 Ball - Lebron James #6 XunS #5 bronbron23 #5 I'm a little confused as to where the hate is coming from, out of 15 people, 2 ranked him out of top 5, and they gave him top 6, I don't get it?
Same in the MVP thread, James got mentioned by nearly everybody as one of the top five if not top three MVP candidates. I think in Jwohls eyes he should be clearly No1 and MVP (otherwise he wouldn't start this thread when it is so clear that no on really hates on James), everything else is hating. Man I can't hear this hating stuff anymore, hating Kobe, hating James, hating anybody. Hating in my eyes is much more serious than just this kindergarden/nursery stuff.
I guess I haven't seen as much hate as you mentioned. He is my number five player, and I voted for him in the MVP thread. I think a lot of people have hated on him from the start. They didn't like all the hype he was getting, and they were wishing and hoping he would be a flop, so they could say they were right all along. Well now he is a superstar, and the original haters can do nothing but make excuses. I myself you to think he couldn't make it. The first game I ever saw him play, I changed my oppinions.
Look, I don't think anyone here hates Lebron, or is really hating on him. I just think that people realize he's young, realize that he has skillz, but aren't rushing to get on the bandwagon. For those who would say he's overhyped, I would say definitely have to ask you to fallback. He's doing even better than people even expected from him. He has a very good head for the game, and the kid is 20, so he deserves the hype. I know some people are a little upset that D. Wade isn't as hyped as Lebron. I feel you on that. But blame Shaq for that. People, especially the sportswriters, are going to accredit the rise of Wade's game to the presence of Shaq, as unsupported at that may be since Wade did so well in the playoff last year, where as on the other hand, they view Lebron as the savior of the Cavs. It's all relative. If you're gonna say people talk about him too much, that's whatever... but if you're trying to say that what people are saying about him doesn't match up to the type of games he puts together on the court, you might need to look at his game again with a little more of an open mind. People may talk about him too much, but the things they are saying about him are definitely true. As for Wade, his hype is starting to build, give it a year.
I think people are just tired of listening to it. LBJ is better than Wade there's no question in my mind. You don't believe me put Lebron on the Heat and Put Wade on the Cavaliers. The heat would win 60 games and cake walk to a championship. The Cavaliers would struggle to even make the playoffs. He's more Magic than Michael anyway.
^You don't know that. Stop bashing Wade, even if you do think so, the fact that you said struggling to make the playoffs I find ridiculous. Wade was nice before Shaq and was their leader in the playoffs too. Please support your statements with actual evidence. Oh my bad Ms. Cleo, you don't need to.
I love the kid. It seems like every time I watch him play he has added something new to his game. Take last night vs. the Heat for instance LeBron caught the ball in the post faked baseline and pivoted the other way for a fadeaway jumpshot. He gets better every game and deserves to be in everyone's "Top 5 in the leauge right now" lists. He versitale, explosive, a decent shooter and a great team leader. What's not to like about the kid. Yes, I do agree that the hype blew him up to much. We all (At least I did) expected him to play up to the caliber he is now. When we saw him having an okay season last year we immediatly thought that he was "Overhyped." When I saw how much he had improved when the start of this season rolled around I immediatly saw what he was capable of and how much potential he has. But guys this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what LeBron is capable of. Give him some credit and before you make the decision as if your a "LeBron hater" wait at least 2 more years and you'l see he will be just as great as Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and Julius Erving.
His shooting % is really overrated. Yes, his jumper is getting better, but lets be real here, a lot of his points come off Dunks/Layups/Free Throws. And LeBron BANDWAGONERS are just annoying as hell. The kids got huge game, and in his prime (scary thought) will probably be considered a top 3-5 player of all-time.
I'm not bashing Wade, it's just annoying when people say to me that Wade will be better than Lebron. Lebron is top 5 in assists and steals, he's sixth in points per game. He's averaging 25points 7 assists 7 rebounds a game. Only Jordan,Bird,Havlicheck, the Big O have done that. People say Wade is overlooked, and that is because he's playing with Shaq. I'm not a huge Lebron James fan, I just believe that in the next year or so he'll be the best player in the league.
Well he is overshadowedbecause he plays with Shaq too. Wade had Odom, and Jones on his team which were reasons why he didn't average more points. He is a better defender, and I think a better leader. What he did in the playoffs as a rookie was unbelievable. Quite an accomplishment. Wade isn't too far in PPG, or APG. Rebounds only because James is taller. I'm sure had Wade been on Cleveland he could have averaged 4 more points per game and 1 more rebound. Wade is a great player overshadowed by the likes of Shaq and James. Wade is a great talent and I really can't see how LeBron is better much less better by that amount.

He's shooting almost 35% from three point range, and though his shot is still inconsistent, he can shoot now.
Quote:

I'm not bashing Wade, it's just annoying when people say to me that Wade will be better than Lebron. He gives up a per of 18.0 to SF's, and SF isn't one of the stronger positions in the league. Wade is a much better man to man defender than him, so at this time, I'd say they were both just as good, but Lebron will be better as he improves his defense. He will be the best player in the league when he becomes a very good defender because his offense is very good right now. He's a good off-ball defender, but on the ball, it's nothing impressive at all. Also I don't think Miami would have an easy road to the championship if you were to switch the 2 of them. Cleveland with Wade can still be a top Eastern team because though they don't have depth, they have fairly good pieces, I don't think they'd be as good though, but just a few wins below. Miami would be about the same IMO.
