<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> I'm hearing ... That Houston and Portland have discussed a Maurice Taylor-for-Derek Anderson swap. ...</div> Link Although this rumor is just a rumor and doesn't even have an article dedicated to it by itself, I feel this has some credibility. The contracts are close and they can be dealt straight up, and Taylor would help the Blazers down low if they're going to move Abdur-Rahim. Anderson, meanwhile, would add more depth to our backcourt and has the ability to play three positions. His defense is mediocre though, and injuries have affected him recently, but he remains a capable player who can put up big numbers when asked to. He'd do more than Mo, but that would make our power forward spot even weaker. Maybe Van Gundy will go with Padgett behind Howard and Weatherspoon eating up scrap for the rest of the season?
I dont care who we get as long as long as we get someone to contribute off the bench. Mo Taylor has been out for like 2 weeks with the Flu. I dont think he has the Flu, something else must be happening but we cant have someone taking up rostor space when they are not contributing.
The Rockets have tagged him with a bogus injury to have him stay on the IR. He can now be activated anytime but it doesn't look like he will be anytime soon, with the way Padgett's playing backing up Howard.
I'd trade Mo Taylor for a bag of dirt at this point. I don't see why the Blazers would even consider making this trade. Mo Taylor has a starter's contract, and the Blazers have the PF position locked up with Zack Randolph.
true^ Derek Anderson isn't a great player, or even a good one at this point but he can be a solid contributor off the bench in the right system.. but he is also a bad defender so Van Gundy wouldn't like that.
I don't see this deal happening. While Derek isn't THAT good, he probly benefit from this deal, and the Blazers don't. So why should they go through with it?
What happened with Mo Taylor anyway? I remember watching a few Rockets games at the beginning of the season and Mo was playing and last week i was watching a Rockets game and we wasn't seen or talked about...whats his deal is he on the IL or something? as for the question at hand...i wouldn't trade for someone like Derek Anderson...you can really tell especially as of late he really doesn't have the passion for playing ball right now...and i don't think its just cuz he's playing in Portland...i saw somewhere else that people think he's gonna hang it up

I would actually trade him for Anderson anyday. We really need some guards that can back up Sura or McGrady and do it effectively. I think Anderson does that and brings a some energy that we have been lacking.
sure anderson isn't the greatest player, but he is decent and he can bring energy off of the bench like one poster said.........bottom line get mo taylor the hell outta here!!!!
I say trade him, we arent getting much out of Anderson but it isnt like Mo is giving us anything. The backup points look fine to me but if derek is gonna quit, we might as well free some cap space
These rumors are getting more and more interesting. Theres another rumor stating that the rockets are wanting to trade Mo Taylor for Derek Anderson but also that the Blazers are trying to trade Abdur-Rahim for whoever they can. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The latest rumor has Portland trading him to Houston for Maurice Taylor and fetching whatever they can for Abdur-Rahim.-The Seattle Times </div>Source Its gonna be interesting to see what else comes up in the next couple of days.
Hahaha, Abdur-Rahim, the biggest cancer the league has ever seen? I wonder who is gonna take him? Well he does make a wuality bench player, but he would stuff up the Rockets' chemistry.
Heres an article I found on Anderson Anderson wants to play or leave team <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Houston wants me," Anderson said. "That's what I've heard. If Houston wants me and these guys aren't going to play me, why don't they trade me?" </div>
This trade seems more and more likely now. Both teams know that they're not wanted by their teams, so it is very plausible that Houston and Portland might pull the trigger just to get rid of players that are taking up roster spots.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting chineseafro:</div><div class="quote_post">why would you say hes a cancer? hes just been on crappy teams, thats it.</div> First of all, Portland has both young and experienced talent. Randolph and Damon Stoudamire are good players. Also, you would think that Shareef would play better on a srappy team coz he would do all the work. Whether or not this theory holds up, you can't blame the team for his misfortune. Look at players like Elton Brand who is well respected as a great player stuck on a crap team. Or Jason Richardson from GS Warriors. ON TOPIC: Yes this deal seems more likely now, and yes I see Rockets benefitting from this. I'd say its better having a $5M contract playing on the bench than not playing at all. One quesiton: When does Anderson's contract finish?
