    PPG 21.2
    RPG 6.1
    APG 5.3
SPG 2.82 (1st in the NBA)
    # 3 in the NBA in steals per turnover
#16 in the NBA in total efficiency
#5 in the NBA in triple doubles

When I hear all of this talk about potential all stars in Washington it makes me SICK in the stomach that Larry Hughes' name is not mentioned among the likes of Antawn Jamison and Gilbert Arenas.

The numbers don't lie. Larry is the most productive Wizard out of the trio and his vastly improved defence has been the reason why the Wizards have done so well. He usually takes on the opposing teams best player and is leading the NBA in steals per game.

AND the one stat to end the argument is........he is one of 7 players in the NBA to average at least 20 ppg, 5rpg, and 5 apg. The other three are.......Kobe, Steve Franchise, Wade, T-Mac Kevin Garnett and Lebron James. Thats some pretty good company.

i agree with you courtvision. Hughes deserves a spot on the allstar team.
However i should point out that there are more players averaging 20-5-5 than you mentioned. Kobe is doing it, Wade is as well, and Tmac. Also Vince carter is since the New Jersey trade. So much so, that even when combining his earlier Raptors game's which were pretty crappy numbers wise, he's still averaging 20 - 4.4 - 4.2

Maybe he's not rebounding for well this year, but I've always taken those numbers for granted from him.

Hughes should definitely at least be a candidate. While Arenas and Jamison were established stars before this season, Hughes broke out. He became a key member of the team and a leader. I would give him the MIP for sure, and at least he should be in the running for an All-Star.

Just think, if he did actually TRY for the Raptors he would be in that elite company. What a loser! I edited the other names onto that list too. Good luck homey.

I think there are 6 or 7 guys getting 20, 5, 5 but I could be wrong. Anyway he is definately worthy of all star consideration. It's a shame there are so many top guards in the East. After the starters (LBJ and AI) you have to choose between Arenas, Hughes, Francis, Wade, Redd, and Pierce.

He is worthy of an allstar consideration, but to say he has been better than Arenas for us is crazy IMO. Arenas has won us numerous games this year with his clutch play, while Hughes is still a streaky shooter.

Hughes is our best defender, no doubt, but I would credit most of or wins this year to the growth of our team and maturity growth of both Arenas and Hughes, and then factor in the addition of Jamison.

Hughes is the team's most versatile player, but he's the second best player on the team after Arenas. Arenas is the leading scorer, has hit so many big shots, and made so many big plays for the Wizards it's not even funny. In crunch time, Arenas shoots 49%, and draws a foul on 22% of his shots, that means he basically has a 73% success rate of making something happen offensively in crunch time, that's nothing to laugh about. Just look at the change in the Washington team tonight when Arenas when in, and after he got ejected.

Hughes definately deserves mention over Jamison, but I've heard many people mention him, anyone that follows the Wizards knows Hughes deserves it, but since he got injured, he hasn't been mentioned anymore, and he's set to come back after the All-Star break.
