<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMGl]http://www.nba.com/media/sixers/iverson_170_050203.jpg[/IMGl]After spending two years growing into the NBA game and a third strike-shortened season that cancelled the All-Star game, Iverson finally filled that need when he earned a starting spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team for the first time in 2000. He has yet to relinquish his claim on that position after being named to the All-Star starting lineup by the NBA for the sixth-consecutive year today.

Iverson received 1,590,400 votes, the ninth-highest vote total and fourth-highest in the Eastern Conference. He finished just behind Cleveland?s LeBron James (1,661,204) in voting among Eastern Conference guards. The 30 head coaches will vote for the remaining members of the All-Star teams in their respective conferences, and their selections will be announced on Tuesday, February 8.

With the selection, Iverson steps into a select group of players in Sixers history. He becomes just the sixth player to be selected to the team on six or more occasions, and becomes just the fifth to make the squad in at least six consecutive seasons. When you consider that Dolph Schayes and Larry Costello made most of their appearances with the Syracuse Nationals, only three players ? Julius Erving, Hal Greer, and Barkley ? have worn the Sixers uniform in the All-Star game as many times as Iverson.</div>

Iverson has officially become a 6-time All-Star. He?s now scheduled to start in his 6th straight All-Star game, so congrats to The Answer. With his heart & determination I think he could crack the 10-time All-Star plateau. What do you think?

Also what are you projected stats for Iverson in 2005 NBA All-Star game?

    13 Points (5-11), 7 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 4 Highlights

Well none of us should be suprised. The only thing I hate seeing is NBA analysts saying that someone else deserves the spot. Congrats to AI never the less.

My projected All Star stats for Allen are: 12 points 13 assists, 2 steals, 4-8 alley oop passes. He could score more but it depends what his mindset is for the game, usually he likes to take the back seat and dish the ball a lot, but we'll see.

That's somewhat true. I've actually seen numerous analyst put Iverson in their All-Star teams. However at the same time, I?ve also seen quite a few analysts but Wade over him as well. But at the end of the day I would say about 6 out of 10 analyst had Iverson over Wade in their All-Star team.

Well for those who follow the entire league, they would realize how well Iverson has been playing. He?s easily playing at an MVP level right now. His supporting cast is just not as good, thus that is why he can't the wins and that?s why he doesn?t get any recognition for the award or any recognition at all for that matter. But nevertheless, his overall play has been amazing, and he's actually having a better season than his MVP season.

He?s shooting where he?s expected to be shooting and at one point he was up to 43% shooting but his recent shooting slump brought down his FG% down some. He averages nearly 29 PPG, also averaging a career high in assists, takes good care of the ball for someone who haves in his hands as much as he does, amazing scoring performances (back to back 50+ point games) and making him teammates better. He?s doing something out of nothing with his supporting cast (no disrespect to the supporting cast), but the way he has them playing is amazing. And from what I?ve seen so far it looks like he?s living up to his words as in vowing to be a leader. He brought the 76ers back into games after being down by such huge deficits and always have them fighting the whole way through. Down by 25, 45, 5, he always has them fighting and that?s a sign of a great leader. In clutch situations he delivers himself just a leader is suppose to and he also TRUST his teammates to make big shots as well which is a sign of great leadership. Leaders are supposed to have trust in their teammates and Iverson be willing to dish the ball in crucial moments showed how much he?s matured. So I think it would be a MAJOR snub if Iverson wouldn?t be a starter in the All-Star game if we had experts chooses the starters.

Iverson deserves this spot. Always has and always will. He succeeds and excels in a league full of giants. He truly is an all star. His stat line will be something like this:
18 pts 9 ass 4 rebs 3 stls and countless oohs and ahhs. He will shine but not hog the spotlight.........Just like a true all star!
