<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PORTLAND, Ore. - There's that notion that all art is derivative. It's true for basketball, too, and Melvin Ely will tell you so. "I love to steal post moves," said Ely, a sudden starter for the Charlotte Bobcats with power forward Emeka Okafor hurt. "With Tim Duncan, KG (Kevin Garnett), every night you'll see something new." So what would you steal from rookie Okafor? "How hard he works," Ely said. "With Mek, you never say he's lucky, because it's all hard work." Ely must work as never before for the next six days. Okafor is on the injured list (sprained left ankle) and the Bobcats face a power forward-de jour week against Portland's Zach Randolph, Seattle's Rashard Lewis, San Antonio's Duncan and Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal. "Randolph probably can't wait to see me," Ely said, acknowledging he's not known around the NBA for great defense.</div> Source

Charlotte needs to give Ely more minutes. Look at his numbers over the past four games, he's good enough to play the 4 and 5. I think Charlotte has gold in Ely, they just don't know it yet.
ya ely needs to play more... i think he can become a very good player if he gets the minutes.. now this is his time to shine when he starts, but big task guarding duncan
