<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">With how Vince has played as a Net, their's not doubt he's been a Top 20 player. He was a Top 20 player last season, and as a Net he's playing even better than that, since they actually have an offense.</div> Thank you. Vince was a top 20 player last year, playing in a offensive system, with no plays but isolations. This year, he's a much better player than last year, and he's playing in a system with a some offense. Right now in the NBA, he's playing like a top 10 player, but based on the past couple of years he's currently between 15-20, probably 17-20. --- For those who are saying LeBron is the best player in the league, he still has a lot to prove. He has been amazing this year, arguably the best overall player this year, however, he still has a distance to go to become the best. He does not have any one on one defense against his posistion like others like Kobe and T-Mac, and Duncan do. Duncan has rightly earned the number 1 spot by his 7 All-NBA First Team and Defensive Team selections, and his Rings and MVP awards. He's not flashy like LeBron or even KG, but this guy just knows how to play basketball, and he's the best at doing so. To help consider your decision, would the Cavs be a better team with Duncan starting at PF or have LeBron starting at SG/SF?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWohl:</div><div class="quote_post">how does that make sense? if he is the best overall player this year why does he have a distance to go to be the best?</div> I said arguably the best overall player. He still has a long way to go to be known as the best, because in order to be so, he needs rings like Duncan. You can call him the best player right now, with a losing team, but he won't be known as one until he accomplishs something big with his team (hint, win a ring or get close atleast right now at age 20).
since when? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You can call him the best player right now, with a losing team</div> Since when is 35-32 a losing team? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">(hint, win a ring or get close atleast right now at age 20).</div> So LBJ cant be considered the best player in the NBA because he has crappy teammates? Remember: MJ didnt win a championship till his 7th season when he had an excellent supporting cast. LBJ will probably never win 6 championships even if he ends up being as good as MJ because of the salary cap nowadays it is near impossible to give LBJ as good a supporting cast as MJ had.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Since when is 35-32 a losing team? </div> Yea I didn't mean it to come out like that....Let's just say,a non-contending team. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So LBJ cant be considered the best player in the NBA because he has crappy teammates? I don't know about that. I don't know about you, but I can't consider a player the best player in the NBA when he has not accomplished anything of significance. If I subtracted LeBron James from the Cavs, and added Tim Duncan and started someone like McInnis or Luke Jackson in place of LeBron, would the Cavs be a better team? I'm not great at predicting things, but I'm sure that team would be atleast a top 3 team in the East. This is adifferent situation, but to balance things out at posistions, subtract Z and LeBron, and add TD and Ginoboli, and you have the best team up there with the Heat. I understand that LeBron can't do it all, but he has a pretty decent supporting cast. Other players in that role as LeBron, could make that team a better one than the current Cavs team. I personally don't even think LeBron is the best player in the league. His defense is nowhere near a player like the Duncans or Kobes, which seperates him from being grouped with those players. Why can't LeBron have as good as a supporting cast as MJ's? If a player is supposedly the best player in the league, what stars and other players wouldn't want to play with him? Many would sacrifice money to go play with him and sign for the MLE in order to contend for 'ship. Keep, add a player via FA or Sign and Trade, draft a good player with good scouting, trade for a player, and you can easily match the supportng cast of MJ's.
