    1.

Monty will get fired. He seemed like an ideal coach to replace Muss, but, he isn't the coach that was at Stanford last year and he is not playing his rooks.

    2.

Biedrins and Flores will get mad and demand trades unless they get more PT soon. Biedrins has grand potential that will never be unleashed unless we play him. Flores needs Fisher to go and if the Warriors could get a decent big man, whoo!

    3.

J-Rich will make the All-Star team. If he continues to play how he has been lately, excluding today's game, he can be a guy equivalent to Kobe in leadership and all-star votes

    4.

We will get a star. The price payed will be Cliffy, Fisher, 2 first round piscks for '06, and Dunleavy. In return we get a guy like Larry Bird in his prime.

    5.

The Warriors will get the number 4 pick in the draft and take Marvin Williams. As a result the offense will run through Speedy who will stay and J-Rich and Williams will score like crazy and Biedrins will do the dirty work and score 15+ per game

Numbers 5 4 I'm praying for to happen

I heard Marvin Williams sucks on defense and he's a bit of a tweener. These top 10 picks on all the draft sites are definitely going to cause scrutiny on evey bit of their game. Frankly, I wouldn't mind drafting Bogut if he's kicking ass and he's only a Sophmore.

Number #1 is inevitable. We don't have a team of stuck up millionaires but Monty still has no hold of this team. If we're just talking about our own opinions, I'll say by the end of next year he'll be let go and get a huge offer to come back to a big time University. That way Cohan won't be afraid to fire him and have to pay the rest of his contract.

The rap on Marvin Williams is this:
Strengths: Elite level athlete, Very quick and agile for a player of his size... Can play any position on the floor effectively.. Never out-worked or out-hustled... Doesn?t take plays off... Gives you everything he has whether it?s a high school playoff game or an AAU event... Excellent form on jumper... NBA range... Very effective when facing the hoop as he has a quick first step and utilizes his jabs and fakes to perfection... Court awareness is that of a vet... Finds teammates from anywhere on the court...An excellent passer from any spot on the floor who possesses great knowledge of the game.... At 6-9 he handles like a guard and has excellent touch out to 17 feet.... Great rebounder because of his size and ability to get off the ground quickly... Big game player... Plays his best in the clutch... A quick leaper who plays well above the rim. Has tremendous potential.

Weaknesses: More of a wing/forward at this point... Doesn?t play well with his back to the basket as he hasn?t developed a go-to post move... Must improve strength as he won?t always be able to rely on his athletic ability at the next level... Is a shot blocker but has trouble defending smaller quicker players...As with all young guys not named LeBron or Carmelo, he struggles with consistency....

That sounds like content from the same draft site that hyped up Dun as the next Larry Bird. I dunno. I think we are better off with a Greg Oden/Andrew Bogut/Chris Taft player right now, but we'll see if Marvin Williams is even remotely like Lebron. If not, we're better off getting a type of player we don't have, like somebody with low post presence.

If we get rid of Monty I am going to be even more pissed off that we got rid of Muss for this guy. I never got the feeling that this guy was really a Mullin guy, but we cant go and fire coaches ever year and a half or two. We need to give them at least 3 years. Besides, I never really thought coaches have as big of an impact as the players. The players should always be the first to blame.

Yeah I always thought Mario Elie was Mullin's man. And one thing about Mullin is that he plays favorites and not necessarily guys that can get the job done or deserve it because they are proven.

Also who hires the players? I think the GM is the first to blame because of his poor judgement of talent. I don't blame Fisher for being an idiot that he shoots 3 seconds after he crosses half court and is a career 39% shooter and has no definition of playmaking skills. I don't blame Twardzick era Adonal Foyle getting grossly overpaid for his "Good Lord, we know he's trying, after 8 years of basketball he still plays like a raw rook who can't do one thing other than shotblocking and giving fouls", style of play. You would think the Warriors would understood that drafting him 8th overall was a major f-up not worth repeating again because he cannot set the tone in a game with his skill set and his current physical shape. This is totally on Mullin. A rookie GM f-up that will cost the Warriors big time for sure in the near future. And who hired Mullin and all the other disastrous GM's that couldn't do more than one thing right? Cohan. Cohan simply does not know the business he is in.

Since Mullin is the guy that hired Montgomery, I'd say he's a Mullin guy by default.

The worst thing a team can do is continually turn over it's head coach. Find me one successful team that does that. The best thing the Warriors can do is stick with Montgomery so the young guys can learn his system and develop. No player can develop when they constantly have to learn a new coach's system, just look at how it screwed up Jamison's development.

WtWalker, I totally agree. But I wonder what was the purpose of giving Montgomery such a crappy hand to begin with this season. 6 years each for Fisher and Foyle who Montgomery is just shaking his head at, I bet (but he's forced to play them because of the money invested in those players). I mean if I'm playing poker and the dealer hands me bad cards, I can't blame the player (Montgomery), I'm blaming the dealer and the cards (GM, players). Except in our case, Mullin saw the faces of the cards before he handed them to Monty.

Good list. #1 caught my attention especially the tail-end of it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he is not playing his rooks.</div>

Not playing the rooks, wasn't this the reason the Warriors decided to fire Musselman? The Warriors wanted Musselman to play the younger players (specifically Dunleavy) more, but he wanted to win games, and felt the veterans were his best chance to get W's. On top of that, Mullin goes out and signs a veteran in Fisher and then re-signs Foyle, and loses Dampier and Cardinal. I haven't heard any PT complaints on the team aside from Dale Davis. What bothers me about that situation, the young player, Mike Dunleavy complaining last season about PT, is only averaging 1 minute more per game this year 31.2 vs. 32.4

    What's the deal?

It's no secret that both Mullin and Muss didn't like each other. Also, Muss is a Saint guy, and Mullin wanted to bring his own guy, since he would officially be a GM last season. Problem was that Muss was highly successful in last two years, and many fans liked it. So, in a sense, somebody needed to snipe Muss. It began with Rowell's interview, when he said Muss was underachiving, despite we were heavily injured last season, lost Jamison and Arenas and won one less game than 2 years ago. Also, most of times, Muss overlooked Dunleavy, which didn't go well with Mullin, because one too many nights, he disappeared and be ineffective. In addition, when Pietrus got mins, he played brilliantly. I am not sure whether they brought the "Muss didn't play young players" card, because they were really convinced or they just wanted to use it to blackmail Muss. Either way, Muss was fired mainly because of those two reasons, and Mullin was confident that he would bring better things without Muss.

Mullin loved Dunleavy and he wanted to build a franchise around him. He believed in Dunleavy so much, he was willing to dump Jamison for basically nothing. Since Dunleavy was ignored by Muss, instead of Muss and his free flowing offense, he brought Monty and his structured offense, which Dunleavy should flourish. Monty tried to insert Dunleavy into his system for first 10 games. However, he disappeared one too many nights, so he was basically benched for quite some time, and received similar or even worse treatment then Muss gave. Now, he plays somewhat better than the beginning, but it's nowhere near where you want to build your team around.

Dampier decided to opt out from his contract, and that seemed to anger Mullin greatly. After all, Dampier only had one nice season out of 5 years, and after throwing half-hearted one year extension offer, which Dampier quicly rejected, Mullin pretty much never bothered to offer any contract to him. Also, at the same time, Foyle became a FA, and we had to keep at least one of two. Unlike Dampier, Foyle played with a heart. Also, he was pursued by number of teams. So, Mullin decided to outbid Foyle and gave him 5 years/40 mils, believing that Foyle can somewhat duplicate what Dampier did last year. Mullin also overlooked post up games and failed to address postup game. Maybe because Mullin never had any dominating PF or center in his playing day, but whatever the reason may be, he vastly underestimated Dampier and chose character over talent. Now we are desperately looking for Dampier like center, who can provide low post up games, interior defense and rebounding.

2003 Draft really sums up two GM's view on talent. Warriors had 11th pick, and Saint wanted Pietrus, freakish athlethe without much skill, while Mullin wanted Cabarkapa, tall, not very athlathic forward with a skill. Probably with Saint's last power, we drafted Pietrus. That's where Fisher comes in. We had Speedy, who was brought by Saint and was very critical for last year's success. However, he is a flawed PG, because he can't shoot 3 and will not be mistaken with Kidd. So, Mullin outbid Houston for Fisher, who's not very athlathic, but is skilled and not a shoot first guy (or so we thought). And, since he gave Fisher 6 years/36 mils, while Speedy got 3 years/ 9 mils, you can guess that Fisher was brought to replace Speedy eventually. Also, Mullin believed that his assembled team was a PO material. And, in order to bring a veteran leadership with championship experience, he overpaid Fisher. Of course, Speedy clearly showed who should start, while Fisher showed that he is a worse PG (clearly better jump shooter though) than Speedy.

So more than half way of this season, virtually everything Mullin did came back and blew off in his face. At this point, we will have a hard time winning half of last year's "underachiving" ball club. And, while Richardson made nice improvement, Dunleavy, the biggest project for Mullin, has made a minimal development, Pietrus seems to be regressed, and it's hard to remember either Flores or Biedrins' face. So, it's not like we are developing much talent either. At least with Muss, players like Richardson, Murphy, Dampier, Arenas, Boykins, Cardinals, and number of players all had career years. Also, once promised 20 mils caproom this offseason has been banished with extensions of Murphy and Richardson, and signing of Foyle and Fisher. Yeah, I remained as a believer for last 10 years, but even to me, what Mullin did in this short period of time has been nearly impossible to watch...

    Bogut

i went to aztec/utes game saturday and saw Bogue in person. He is the answer for the middle for us. A perfect compliment to Murphy. Bogut has quick moves in the post and was unstoppable. He has good hands and is the best passes out of the post i have seen. Similar to vlade. He is strong aggressive and is amazingly ambidetrious.

the most imporatant things i saw was his decision making in the post .... he is quick with either hand.. and when it isnt there he gets the ball out to the open man..... he face triple teams the entrie game yet put up 15 and 13..... he leads the nation in rebounding and shot percentage

i can't say enough about this guy....he is zach randolph with actual passsing skills....imagine bogut in the low post and murph hi.

he is the perfect fit for the warriors a no brainer..... if the warriors got the #1 pick i would still entertain getting this guy... he is young.... at 7' 0" 245 strong with room to grow....

    the downside :

he would bring to the nba the worst hair cut since van horne

There's no real argument against anything you said, but 1 point I think people need to look at is below:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">At least with Muss, players like Richardson, Murphy, Dampier, Arenas, Boykins, Cardinals, and number of players all had career years. </div>

True, but he also had more to work with. Without any kind of post presence, it's hard to imagine that Musselman would've done any better with this team. As much as I was against the firing of Muss, I think it actually is a good thing in the long run. Richardson has become a much better and structured player this season. This surely will pay off in the long run.

Bogut's looking really good on paper. But he's not projected to be a superstar whereas Marvin Williams is. If he's athletic and as fundamentally sound as the guy he's compared to (Tim Duncan) it looks like a good choice. Man, I'd hate for the Warriors to get the #1 pick now because either way it's botched for us and we'll argue how it didn't help us in one season like Lebron/Melo did for their teams. There's no real clear nobrainer with the #1 overall pick, but we do need a center more than a small forward and good centers are really hard to find.

One thing is for sure ...

Someone is going to leave and turn into a Superstar

My guess is Dunleavy(as much as it hurts for me to say, I think he'll blossom into a legit star if he moves on).

Bogut, Williams, Taft or Paul would all be great picks. If Rudy Gay comes out then even better! I just don't want the 6'10 18 year old serbian SF or Tiago Splitter. No more kids that need years to develop. Next year we play Biedrins and the new rook and we'll have a chance to actually play competitive b-ball.

Yeah, there is no way for us to compare what either coaches could have done with their squards. That's why I give Monty a benefit of doubt and not rip him, even if we seem to get killed one of every two games, and players look disinterested compared supposely disgruntled last year's players. Also, Mullin really gave Monty a bad talent pool to work with. So, I don't blame this rookie coach much for this year's disaster. Let's see what he can do next year.

And, we will see about Richardson, because if we keep getting killed day in and day out, sooner or later, he is bounded to lose an interest or demand a trade...

...In other words, let's forget like we've lost 17 of our last 19 and 10 straight on the road. doh!

Everytime, I think of the Warriors this year compared to last year and the year before, I remember that funny line from the movie Water Boy starring Adam Sandler. Rob Schneider's Cajun character says, "Oh no, we suck again!". Two years ago we were only a few games out of the playoffs. Too much roster turnover, not enough team chemistry or pieces that fit and lack of a system of plays. Hard to believe it could get much worse. Might as well rest Jrich more so his finger and ankles can heal.

Yeah its kind of ashaming knowing that we have good players. We could make a starting lineup out of the yungins

PG: Mike Dunleavy/ Speedy Claxton/ Luis Flores
SG: Jason Richardson/ Mickael Pietrus/ Calbert Cheany
SF: Mickael Pietrus/ Eduardo Najera/ Zarko Cabarkapa
PF: Troy Murphy/ Zarko Cabarkapa/ Eduardo Najera
    C: Andris Biedrins/ Dale Davis/ Clifford Robinson

We trade Fisher to a desperate team and get a first round pick and a second round pick from '05

It would be nice to trade Fish and Foyl to some desperate team, wich has cap sapce, for some draft picks... On the other hand there is Mullin factor. Sorry guys, you suck again! [IMG] It would be funny if it would not be so sad.... [IMG]
