Don't know if someone else has started one of these things about the topic yet (or if anyone cares), but yesterday Karl Malone made a little stop here in the Alamo City en route to LA from his Arkansas ranch and was spotted at a restaurant with Timmy, Pop, and a few members of the Spurs management. According to our local news guys, <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"...he (Malone) appeared to enjoy his visit with them." - S.A. Express News</div> and a brief video clip that was caught by one of the local stations showed them laughing it up and having a jolly good time leaving the place. Time to hit the panic button for those of us old Spurs fans who still have bad memories of Malone knocking big Dave out cold or is that just wishful thinking?
IMO the Spurs will land Malone. If you do, congratulations cuz he's a great player. Best of luck in the Finals ( like you need it )
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Da_Future_2k5:</div><div class="quote_post">this might jinx the Spurs, i say dont get him.</div> Yeah, the possibility of a Karl jinx is another reason Spurs fans are leary about getting him. As for me, I try not to believe in jinxes but damn, you gotta wonder sometimes (the pesky commentator/free throw jinx for example).
All the talk in San Antonio right now is about Karl Malone and he will give the Spurs an answer this week. He may still retire but It's likely he will join the Spurs. Adding a guy like Malone can do nothing but help the Spurs roster, gives another body to work with. I still hate his guts though.
Well it looks like leary fans like me now have a reason to hope Malone does sign with the Spurs. Timmy injured his ankle in practice today just when his knee was starting to heal up from Thursday, so he'll be out for at least tomorrow and maybe the rest of the road trip. With our two big men out (Rasho still injured) we could really use another big guy right about......now!
I really don't know how people can still respect him? He leaves the Lakers because they aren't championship material, not because Kobe "threatened" him, the media blew that way out of proportion..why? Because it involved KB. I hope the Spurs get him, he will help them a lot. Give them more vet. leadership. I will never respect him, I really think he should finish his career in Utah, and get his ring as a coach.
