With the way Vince Carter is playing right now, I just have to go back about 20 games and think about the way he was playing in T.O., I actually get physically nauseous. All this is making me think back to how T-Mac screwed us. We got a draft pick for him, but we could have had Larry Hughs and a throw in, and I think in due time, we will all realized how badly we were raped in the Vince Carter Trade. <div align="center">With Toronto</div> <div align="right">With NJ</div> <div align="left">PPG</div> <div align="center"> 15.9</div> <div align="right">25.6</div> <div align="left">FG%</div> <div align="center">.411</div> <div align="right">.459</div> <div align="left">3PT%</div> <div align="center">.322</div> <div align="right">.419</div> <div align="left">FT%</div> <div align="center">.694 </div> <div align="right">.769</div> <div align="left">APG </div> <div align="center"> 3.1</div> <div align="right">5.2</div> <div align="left">RPG </div> <div align="center"> 3.3 </div> <div align="right">6.0</div> These numbers don't lie. He is clearly putting in a ton of more effort with the nets, and it just makes me wonder where the Raps could have been with these numbers, or at least some players they could have gotten in return that could come close to these numbers. THANKS ALOT VINCE, you set us back alot. JERKASS!
I totally know what you are talking about. The guy is an Azhole. I can't wait until the day he returns to being the Vince of old. It WILL happen! With Carter gone.....Bosh can develop. I am so excited to watch that young kid play. I believe he will go down as the greatest Raptor player of all time. If it wasn't for Vince being an idiot....we would not be able to have the pleasure of watching Bosh put up career numbers every night. Sure we lost a lot with Carter....but we got a lot with Bosh. Sure, I hope his brake fail....but whatever, it is not worth thinking about.
This post has already been done, and been closed(to my recolleection). But what else did you expect from Vince? Sure his huge change in effort was shcoking to me, but he was obviously going to do better with the Nets. I wanted more for Carter, but this trade was decent. There are obviously beter scenarios we could be in, but why hate now? And this makes you tink of how T-Mac Screwed us? It was the (bab)cock's choice on who the trade. Either wa, it was a good trade in the long run for both teams now matter how u think of it(albeit, Toront's future could be better).
This is suprising to you man? I thought everyone knew it was going to go down like this.. It was either Vince was going to be injured and be a complete bust, or he was going back to Superstar status.. unfortunately it was the latter of the 2.
I don't understand what's so surprising. He's playing 10 more minutes a game. playing more consistent minutes, and is more into the games. It was obvious he needed a change of scenery though he didn't handle the situation the proper way, handled it terribly to be exact, it was pretty evident to anyone who was not in denial that he would do better in New Jersey. With us, he didn't get consistent minutes, the offense wasn't running through him the same way, and he wasn't getting the ball in the same spots. This season his effort was up and down, he'd have a very good game effort wise, and then come with a game [Portland #2] where it's like he's not even there. We can beat the effort thing to death, but it wasn't only him, after Vince was gone, their were 2 games where Bosh came out and said him and the team didn't give it all on the floor in interviews, but not too many heard that, and the media will not speak of it in the same manner. Babcock picked the worst possible time to trade Vince, he sold as low as he possibly could. When Vince was averaging 15 points and playing only 30 minutes, was not playing due to an injury, we were losing because of our massive amounts of road games, the team was in turmoil, their were problems, though not all that clear because not everything problematic was related to him, but everyone from fans to media wanted it to be. Babcock sold as low as possible, and even at that low, many people thought they could've offered better. For some reason some of us act like other GM's are idiots, they also know what he's capable of, and that 16-4-4 and playing 30 minutes or whatever it was wasn't near his full capability. Yes we basically got nothing but mid-round draft picks, but the trade was a blessing in disguise for everyone involved. New Jersey got more fans, Vince went to a place better suited for him, and with Vince leaving, we got to see a quicker emergence of Bosh. Are the Raptors a better <u>team</u> now, yes, with team being the key word, and their might be other factors contributing to that, but we're better as a team. Record/winning wise are we better, no not really, we're not much better, we've just been at home more, and had easier opponents, our home and road winning percentage are just the same as with Vince, but we can focus on the future. It's all done, and we just need to get over it, Bosh is developing into a 18-20 points, 8-10 rebounds player like we expected in the pre-season, and earlier in the season even, and though we didn't do good in the trade no matter how people want to spin it, it's done and over with. If you expected Vince to continue playing 30 minutes, get less touches, or continue averaging 16-4-4 and shooting bad, you were in a different world.
Someone should just do an Official I Hate Vince Carter Thread so we wouldn't have all these types of threads on the same subject.
why dont we jut boo carter when he comes back to the ACC???? then he will now how we feel for him after stabbing us in the back. i think at the end of the year we will be in the playoffs at 8 spot and he will be in the ditches moaning and complaining. seriusly we gotta boo at VC when he comes to the ACC.
I hope we don't make the playoffs, it just gives us a worse pick, and it's not like we're going to go anywhere in the post-season.
^I second that. If we can get rid of Jalen and Donyell for some quality picks I'm all for that as well......
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">I hope we don't make the playoffs, it just gives us a worse pick, and it's not like we're going to go anywhere in the post-season.</div> I dont really know much about the picks that we have and the lottery and all, i just hope for the best for my team, every year
Yea well realistically, we're not on the path to make the playoffs, but right now we don't have enough good young players to build on outside of Bosh, so luckily making the playoffs and just getting beat, then getting a much lower draft pick isn't going to help out future at all.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">I hope we don't make the playoffs, it just gives us a worse pick, and it's not like we're going to go anywhere in the post-season.</div>I would usually agree to tanking the rest of the season given our current situation, but knowing Babcock, he'd probably: a) Use our lottery pick to draft a projected mid-late first round pick (no offense to Araujo) or Trade our lottery pick for some aging role players(no offense to Eric and Aaron Williams) He did, however, draft Pape Sow so I'll give him some credit at least, but I still ain't all too confident in Babcock's decision making so far.
The same people who post now about how carter is a jerk were begging him to be traded in past threads on Carter. I'm not a toronto fan and Im not a NJ fan. You got what u asked for. He got what he asked for. Noone was crying when newjersey wasnt winning, now that theyre winning ur mad. LOL If torpnto was doing what NJ was doing now This Thread wouldve never been Created. ONE(love) P.S. Good luck Vince!
^I second that. We all need to get off of this trade and focus on the future. If Carter did not leave, I do not think Bosh would be able to progress at the rate he is at right now. It is a give and take situation. I don't mind the position we are in (2 1st rounders in this years draft and 2 first rounders in the year after) and we should be looking foward rather than backwards. I wish Carter the best of luck and hope he keeps on producing them highlights. I'm actually getting excited to watch him again, especially with Kidd on the floor.
