OK now we are really starting to play terribly, despite alot of the players performing well on the offensive, and sometimes defenisve side. I am really feeling that this is purely down to jonny davis. 3 straight loss's to atlanta, clevland and warriors. 2 of these should have been easy wins. Get with it magic, whats going on!
I personally think it's our mentality going into the game. We see it's against the Hawks and we don't come out with the aggressiveness that we should. We play to each teams level. If we play a team like San Antonio or Washington, we play really good, we play up to their level. Then we play down to the level of the Hawks and the Warriors for example. I wish we could just play to our own level and not play down against the teams we should beat. This is bad preparation from our coaching staff. (I'm not gonna blame it all on just JD though, and you all know how much I hate him)
Well, we can never have too much of a good thing in Orlando. It's just something most fans down here get used to - underachieving. I honestly have no idea why we're dropping the games we should win. Sportsrock probably said it best, it's all about our mentality. JD isn't that great of a coach, I'll agree with you again there too sport. If he'd get our guys on a level of taking each opponent like they were the Suns or Spurs we'd probably win a lot more. Who knows, it's just Orlando.
Here is a related article from Orlando Sentinel: Magic woes concern GM A few quotes from there: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> It was the Magic's third consecutive defeat, their 17th in the past 29 games since their promising 13-6 start.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> "I'm comfortable that Johnny is doing the right things," Weisbrod said after Wednesday's practice. "But something that Johnny and I have to face is that some of those things aren't making it to the cutting-room floor.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Forward Grant Hill concedes that he and his teammates have not always executed Davis' defensive Xs and 0s. "We're not sticking to our defensive assignments," he said.</div>
Started to review it a bit (admitadly i was a bit drunk when I wrote that and annoyed at losing lol). We feel when the D is getting on well but we REALLY feel the turnovers, open looks and 2nd chance hustle points. Take last night - First 1/4 - dominated, 1 turnover, 2nd 1/4, we lost just, but 7 turnovers.
we need to pick it up its just simple like francis needs to stop TOing it over hill needs 20+ppg. criste just needs to do anything he can like anything at all and we need howard to bring his A game coz he could do better
Maybe hire Flip Saunders think of Howard getting 20ppg like KG maybe finding plays that involve Dwight and we could use his defense. Maybe Flip will want a head coacing job instead of working behind the scenes of the T-Wolfs. Maybe just maybe the GM can do something and possible have Stevio talk to Cat in going back with us Doug took the number 1 jersey so number 5 is still up for grabs. We better not fall to .500 or below beacuse we had enough of losing we've done that already we need to get the Orlando Magic team to be a feared team in the East like we were for only 2 years one we got to the finals the other got wiped by the god of basketball MJ.
Man, what's up with this team? I thought we brought DC in to play some defense, and still I don't see our defense improved instead we're still trying to outscore our opponents only now, we've got one scorer who can give you 20 points on any night less on the team. The team clearly has no idea what they're supposed to do, like Hill said in my early post, they're not doing their job properly, and I wonder why? I think the coach doesn't play them to their full potential and he's no idea how he can do it. Yes, there is the need to change something, we need a new head coach but I doubt we get one until the offseason. Davis isn't a coach who can improve this team, he can't get the best out of our team and I don't think we'll ever achieve anything with him. On a side note, this quotation from Orlando Sentinel, from a player after the loss against Phily: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There appears to be some growing unrest in Orlando's locker room. "I know what our problem is," said one Magic player who did not want to be identified or explain it any further.</div> Source: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic
