<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pau Gasol's hopes of becoming the Grizzlies' first-ever all star must wait another season.

The 7-foot Spaniard wasn't among the reserves chosen by the coaches Tuesday when the NBA announced who would fill out the Western and Eastern Conference rosters. Starters are chosen by worldwide fan voting.

Griz coach Mike Fratello perused the list of reserves before his team's game with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Fratello didn't react with disdain, given Gasol's competition was overwhelming at power forward.

"I thought Pau had a chance," Fratello said. "I don't know how much the injury affected the (coaches') decisions. It's nice that he got some kind of consideration."

Gasol wasn't available before the game and instead received treatment for a sore left foot that has him on the injured list. It wasn't certain whether Gasol would have played if he had been chosen for the Feb. 20 game in Denver. </div>

I was debating this in the All-Star forum. I feel that Pau Gasol is this season's biggest snub. I just can't figure out why Emanuel Ginobili made the team over both Gasol and Chris Webber, who is the only player who I might have felt comfortable with being named as the final All-Star reserve over Gasol. I think that it's about time that the Grizzlies had an All-Star. They're about to be a back-to-back playoff team.
