Vince Carter: "Tim Legler is a moron"!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Carter went easy on Anthony. On others, he's not as charitable.

"When Barkley said those things, I figured he's just not worth it," he said. "Or on that other NBA show, with Tim Legler -- he's a moron. He's one of those who jumped on the bandwagon and can't jump off. But they're not saying much lately, which proves a point." </div>

VC firing back at Chuck Barkley, Greg Anthony, and Tim Legler (etc.) few of whome have critisized him over the years.
This article brings nothing new but more Michell Carter mothering, although it's time for Vince to call someone out.

    Um...no. Not in my opinion.

Vince in no way has any right to call any one "out".

Nobody has said that he can't play the way he has been playing. He said himself that he didn't always try. He also dragged out injuries he could have played through. He screwed the fans and club in Toronto and should shut up and take the all the shots people take at him until he proves himself for at least another year. He also owes a big freakin "sorry for being an ass", to ALL of his fans around the world.

    Wow.

Now that Vince is playing well in Jersey he comes out and firing on all cylinders. This guy better just shut up and play or Karma is gonna kick him in the leg again.

It's always easier to bite back at your critics when you are doing well but C'MON now, we all know the past 3 years he didn't do jack shit. If I were him I would just shut up and play ball because you never know what can happen in the future....

Wow Vince blaasted them. IMO Vince is a great player and one of the most exiting players to watch. They shouldn't be saying stuff about Carter. True he didn't try his hardest in Toronto and wanted out but look what he does when he actually tries. I don't blame Vince one bit for saying all this. And at the end of the day he doesn't really care what these analysts think and say. Vince uses it as motivation to prove them wrong.

Haha, For once..I agree with Carter. Tim Legler is the biggest idiot/hypocrite ever..last year when the Wizards were struggling, we were his laughing stock, but now we are his "boys"..get out of here with that crap, someone also needs to tell him that he is white, he has it fixed in his mind that he is black.

Well, Vince sure put on a great show tonight against the Spurs. Right up until he got himself ejected from the game. Even MJ couldn't win games from the locker room last time I checked.

He shouldn't be paying attention to analysts anyway. Just play basketball. Everyone is going to have their opinion. I think long term he's slowly turning the Nets into a possible 7-8 seed.

I hate Legler too, he has this unbearable bias against the Bulls because of some feud between him and Antonio Davis, or so i've heard.

How bout... Vince put a pacifier in his mouth because taht's what he needs. He was babied in Toronto, the coachs were his everything was... until he started sucking... yes he stunk it up in Toronto the past few years. Then the fans turned on him, the office saw he was garbage and he was booted out the door. We have a new franchise player in Bosh who's better than Carter. I don't care how good he does this year, I'd never want him back, even if he plays 100%. Our team was built around him, and he let us down, he didn't put forth the effort. He sat and ate tortillas all summer instead of training. He shouldn't have the right to bash anyone.

LOL! How embarrasing. "MOM TO THE RESCUE!" I like vince but maybe he should seek some female company. Mom has got to stay out of the media. And If Vince thinks thats cool hes stupid. Do u think charles cares what MAMA carter thinks? Hes looking at the article laughing his azz off. She knows nothing about bball. If every ones mom whos been critisized by charles showed up at 1 spot it would be another march on washington. And vinces career hasnt been as dominating as charles was at the same point in his career so her comments on his career shouldnt be brought up. But Vince put mom in pocket Homie shes making u look like a Simp. LOL!

The Bulls were in an uproar after being dissed by ESPN's Tim "I played the game" Legler. Legler predicted the Bulls would provide the Hornets their second victory of the season a few weeks back. When they didn't, the Bulls got in the last word. "Tim who?" Antonio Davis said. "Tim Legler wasn't much of a player, but I think even less of him as a broadcaster." Legler, though, is bitter toward the Bulls. During their second three-peat, the Bulls needed a perimeter shooter. They chose Steve Kerr over Legler. Kerr's got the rings, Legler gets to sit next to Stephen A. Smith.

its tru legler does have beef with the bulls, leglers like the 4th best guy in the booth, like he was the 4th best guy on the BENCH

One thing people fail to realize is that Vince and his mom are not the same person. While Vince has a soft spot for his mother [not like their's something wrong with that], what his mom says isn't what he's thinking.

Look at something like the situation with Charles Oakley, his mom bashed Oak, but Vince didn't seem to have any ill-will towards him, him and Oak were much closer than most people thought they were. Vince's mom has always been a person to talk too much, and say stupidness, whether things are good or bad, it happens, but to relate it to Word of Mouf from Vince isn't correct.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">How bout... Vince put a pacifier in his mouth because taht's what he needs. I'd like to no how you know this, no one would say Vince is the most hardworking guy, not even close, but the reason most of the guys bashed his summer work ethic was because he used to take a break early in the summer and start working out later. He said it's so he's body could rest, and considering he's had his share of injuries, I wouldn't say it's a wrong assesment on his part.
Raptors trainers said his bench press was very impressive, and he could get very good results with little effort, but he didn't work out or lift weights as much as an Antonio Davis or something, because he was very naturally strong.

The only time he stunk it up was this this season for the most part, their's a difference between stinking it up, and being injured. Last season with more injuries, our disguting slow paced basketball, and an even weaker roster, we were winning more games, and Vince was what, 8th in scoring on a team which played at the pace of a snail.

One thing you have to realize is that this wasn't a just Vince thing, their was problems fron all angles of the organization, you can say the coaches pampered him, but that happens with all "superstars". We had a lot of coaches. and many were singing the Vince is a cancer song, and he leaves and we still have problems inside the team every other day.

Carter's earned all the criticism he's gotten over the years and needs to shut the hell up. He thinks what he's done in NJ so far this year dismisses everything?

    LMAO.

As CV alluded to, Karma's waiting Vince.

I think you just summed up the arguement against VC in 2 little words: RIGHT NOW.

VC has been lazy, hasn't committed to try to play defense hard and has been injury riddled his whole career. He's openly admitted he didn't give the Raps everything he had, while cashing a monster paycheck and bitching about everything related to the team from coaches to fellow players.

That kind of player doesn't deserve any respect because how long will it be before "he doesn't feel like playing hard" again? Answer: when he feels he's done enough to coast again.

There's alot more history to our responses against VC than merely the few dozen games VC's decided to check his ego in NJ. [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I've stopped trying to figure out where it's coming from. Yeah, sometimes I hear guys on TV say something, but now the first thing that comes to my mind is, 'What makes him say something like that?' The only conclusion I can reach is that they are jealous. Hey, that may not be the case. But it's something. And I'm tired of trying to figure it out." </div> This quote by Vince sums up his ego. It's one thing to want to go out and silence your critics. I respect him for that, but at the same time, he is 100% at fault for the criticism in the first place. He half-assed it in Toronto despite the endless efforts and fan support from the people of Canada. He's gone on record saying he didn't always try hard.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Not the older guys like Barkley and Greg Anthony," he said. "I couldn't care less what they have to say at that point. The fans come to see you every night. Those guys don't. They do their own thing. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for the fans' appreciation. That's the way I'd like to keep it." </div> Then we get this quote from him. Saying it's all about the fans. What a hypocrite! The Toronto fans came to see him every night, they bought his jerseys, they defended him from his critics, and they voted for him to the All-Star game even though he was injured and having an average season. So how does he show his gratitude? He doesn't try hard and give the fans the 100% they gave to him.

And for the record Tim Legler is a moron!
