Apparently, they plan to keep doing this until the naming rights are sold. The CeltsMan54 Forum has a nice ring to it. Link
We're actually trying to formulate a plan for the collection of donations from posters interested, so that the blog might try for a sponsorship. Sort of like Celtics fans taking control for just one night. It's in the message board section, but here's part of the conversation if anyone's interested: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Quote: If it did fall through, could it be donated to the charity of the board's choice instead...? Just an idea</div> Nice sentiment. I suppose it's an option, but...(You had to know there was a "but" coming)....Who constitute's "the board". Me, Jeff, and the rest of the cronies that keep this place running or the people who donated the money? See where I'm getting at? We'd either have to have a charity decided upon before donations start. Either that or we'd have wait to see if the sponsorship thing fell through. If it did, then those who still wanted thier contribution to go to charity (because we'd have to give them the choice of refund)would have to have a consensus vote to determine what charity the money goes to. I don't relish the above proposition, because then all manner of arguements are going to break out over religious, geographic, and political differences. I don't want to be the one of the one's with a white cross on my helmet, trying to dodge crossfire. If we can figure out most of the contingency issues, I'd be more then happy to take up the effort. I really think that it would speak volumes about the fanaticism of Celtics fans, if we could pull it off and say, if only for one night, THE FANS OWN THE HOME OF THE BOSTON CELTICS. That would be cool as hell and I'm totally behind it. I know Jeff supports it and having someone from staff in the mix will probably make him even more comfortable with the blog having it's name attached to it.</div> I imagine JBB could concievably try something like this as well.
It's not a bad idea, but does also raise the question of just who would get the four luxury box seats for the game the day that the forum re-names the stadium?
If the blog pulls it off (assuming we even try), you can bet Jeff and I are going to be calling dibs!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hagrid:</div><div class="quote_post">If the blog pulls it off (assuming we even try), you can bet Jeff and I are going to be calling dibs! </div> Well, I've already got good seats, so I won't be trying for them, but if you guys get some place up to contribute, let me know.
