Too bad to see him go out without a ring. I wish him well though. He deserves to be in the hall of fame.

Did a deal with San Antonio not go through or was his health to bad?

I'm actually glad he decided to hang 'em up. I think it really would have tainted his legacy to sign with the Spurs for half a season just to try and get a ring. It was one thing to go to the Lakers last year and spend the whole season there, its another to try and catch on with the frontrunners when the season is half over.

Smart move, I really think a lot of people would of lost a lot of respect for him if he went to the Spurs...I can't stand him, but he deserves a ring...I would love to see him get one as a coach later on in life...

He had a great career, but it is time to move on. He didn't look right last year with the Lakers and I don't think he would of look right with the Spurs, but he is coming home (Utah) to announce his retirement. Maybe they are announcing that he is going to come onto the Jazz coaching staff to teach Boozer and Okur how to play interior defense.

    Stockton to Malone Forever

Wow what a career but not one ring. I think the season with the Lakers tarnished it a little bit but we`ll always have great memories with The Mailman.

just another great player that left the league without a ring on his finger. he had a great run and its too bad its over for him. 2nd leading scorer in NBA history is not bad at all. i guess you can add him to the list of "Kings Without a Ring."
BTW, reggie miller is also saying that he'll retire after this season. hopefully he gets a ring this year. he really deserves it.

Karl Malone had a great career, and I agree with his decision to retire. Joining the Lakers, then the Spurs, for the purpose of getting a ring would've caused Malone to lose a lot of respect from the fans. He deserved a ring, and if he was to get it anywhere it should've been in Utah with John Stockton. But he is still arguably the best Power Forward the NBA has ever seen despite not getting a ring.

Good move by not taking the Spurs offer. I respect Karl a lot more for making this decision. I wish Karl the best of luck.

It was fun watching him over the years.
