He would be having an MVP season if the Sixers were on top of the east or close to it. He has improved on his assists numbers after making the switch to point guard and his scoring hasn't gone down any either. There is just so many guys in the league that deserve it more then he does though, Dirk, Duncan, Nash, and Shaq.

Yeah like CourtKing said I think the NBA looks for great stats in a player but a player that has rised his team to the top or around there. But theres so much more great contenders that blow A.I. out of the water.

He is having a great season, but the sixers really aren't quite there for it, in the weakest division, sixers would need to be well on top of the atlantic division for it to be an MVP season. We'll see.

He would get my vote if the Sixers were doing better. The back to back 50 point games, the 40 point games, the assists, the triple doubles, the almost triple doubles.

I think this is the emergence of a leader!!!

Too bad it didn't come arlier though...[IMG]

I think if Philly were to put together a major run after the all star break, and really dominate then maybe. His stats are great points, assists, steals and he is the most valuable to the sixers. In order for him to out-do so many other superstars having "MVP-type" seasons, Philly will have to kick some butt and run away with the Atlantic Division. Time will tell.......

If Philly were actually a contender in the East the Iverson would be a serious MVP Candidate. Iverson has been doing great this season, back to back 50 oint games, dropping 40 points a bunch of times and he hasn't done anything stupid thid year.

He's definitely a contender for the MVP award and is an outstanding player but I would choose other players over him this season. There's still the rest of the season for him to keep up the hard work as well.

See I think the NBA anaylists choose by these

1.what impact they have on their team
2.how their team is doing compare to last year
    3. stats

I really think stats come last, just look at Nash, out of all the MVP candidates we been talking about he's the one that only aveages 15 points, but 11 assists is also impressive. But he's getting the consideration so I think the analysts base their votes on the team more than stats. This way theres noway AI is gonna get hte mvp except if the sixres go on like 20-10 run at the end of the season
