They said most likely Jerome Williams. Who would you want from him if we didn't give up Jerome?

I'd like to have JYD back. He brings energy and gives 110% every game.

In a realistic deal, there's nobody I would want from the Knicks who would be available for Williams.

Well Williams doesn't want to be there and also, Jerome Williams is a good fit for Toronto and still a crowd favorite. He still has that rapping thing in Toronto so it would be a nice for Jerome. I think you get pretty much equal value in a Williams/Williams swipe.

Jerome Williams is overpaid. I love JYD and was sad to see him go, but I have moved and so have many others. If the Knicks would pay half of his salary or something, then ya I would definitly take that; but I wouldn't trade for him with the increasing money he's getting. Maybe take Lamond Murray in the deal, and I can be happy, but that's unlikely.

Eric Williams doesn't want to be in Toronto and publicly requested a trade. It seems like the Knicks are the only one trying to acquire him too. I think some of his best qualities will be shown up in a place he actually wants to be in.

true look at vc, he wasnt trying. but e will is not getting enough playing time, that is why he is sobbing. but i wouldnt mind having jyd back. we need help on the boards!!! and if sam mitchell doesnt give JYD playing time (if the trade goes through) then i say screw sam mitchell and find a better coach who is an actual coach. we might be able to get college coaches who would be interested in coaching pro! im serious too there are a lot of coaches in the ncaa that would love to coach a b-ball team. but we need someone smart.

If the Knicks offered a second round pick and some player for contract purposes, I'd be fine with it...

The only problem is that JYD has a longer contract and earns more money. Almost twice as much as E Dub makes. I believe that E. Dub has a more valuable contract, and just wants playing time. I think we should keep him for now unless New York gives something more.

williams for williams does not work under salary rules, JYD makes like 6 mill this year and still has 2 additional years left in the upper 6 mil range. EWill only makes 3 mi for the same length of time.
I would like JYD back but i'd want at minimum a pick as well. But i'd suggest a trade more like EWill and Lammond/Aaron

Toronto trades: PF Aaron Williams (1.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.3 minutes)
SF Eric Williams (8.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.8 apg in 26.9 minutes)
Toronto receives: PF Jerome Williams (4.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 16.3 minutes)
PG Jamison Brewer (1.7 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 10.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -3.7 ppg, -0.2 rpg, and -0.8 apg.

New York trades: PF Jerome Williams (4.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 16.3 minutes)
PG Jamison Brewer (1.7 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 10.3 minutes)
New York receives: PF Aaron Williams (1.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.3 minutes)
SF Eric Williams (8.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.8 apg in 26.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +3.7 ppg, +0.2 rpg, and +0.8 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

    This works for me

what's funny bout that...You're the one that suggested JYD for Eric Williams. It's not like you guys trading away Brewer for Aaron Williams would change the whole trade.

    --

Once again, I wouldn't want to do that trade because of Jerome's contract.

yea...i dont see whats so funny about that trade either? brewer isnt exactly a hot prospect [IMG]

as for the trade....ya know what guys...JYD is exactly what the raps need right now. a guy who wants to be in toronto and who will bring energy, defense, rebounding and most importantly...chemistry to a disfunctional locker room. granted he's well over-paid, and isnt going to help our cap situation. but i think we need to address a situation thats more important then our cap flexibility right now. keeping bosh is more important then having cap flexibility...and we need someone with a good attitude and that can gel with our core group...JYD is that guy. again...jerome LIKES it in toronto.

dont be surprised if another team or two get involved in this trade and it involves a few more players

I thought it was kinda crappy, I guess it's fine, unless Brewer is supposed to have All-Star potential or something.

    ???????

The trade i proposed was a way for the Williams for Williams to work contract wise. We would be paying 3 mil per year more over 3 years for our Will, so i figured taking on Aaron Williams 3 mil contract for 1 year(player option for second year) almost balances that off. Not sure whats funny, Brewer is nothing you cant find a dozen of in the NBDL.

The trade is pretty fair in my opinion.

Much better than the EWill for Brewer you suggested in the New York forum [IMG]
