Looks interesting. The Warriors get a legit player from the Bucks, but they lose cap room, and a future star in Dunleavy, and tons of cap room. I think Golden State gets robbed in this deal quite honestly.

Well,a lot of Warrior fans are dissapointed in Dunleavy so I think this trade would be very good for them.
Redd's a great shooter who can give you 20 every night while you get a good shooter in Van Horn who chokes in the playoffs but when was the last time GS got into playoffs?
I would do it in a minute.

I am dissapointed that we lose Dunleavy, but I'd do it, we get a star in Redd and a good back-up in Van Horn. Our new starting lineups when Murphy is injured

    PG: Speedy Claxton
    SG: Jason Richardson
    SF: Michael Redd [IMG]
    PF: Keith Van Horn
    C: Adonal Foyle

    Then when Murphy comes back,

PG: Speedy Claxton/ Derek Fisher/ Luis Flores
SG: Jason Richardson/ Mickael Pietrus/ Calbert Cheany
SF: Michael Redd/ Keith Van Horn/ Mickael Pietrus
PF: Troy Murphy/ Keith Van Horn/ Zarko Cabarkapa
    C: Adonal Foyle/ Andris Biedrins

    IL: Eduardo Najera

    :dancepart

I mean we rob the Bucks. We get rid of two expiring contracts, a player that has been getting much better for a star [IMG] and a great back up. Whooooo!!!!!

Dunleavy has been doing better lately, but is still soft and has horrible D. But I'd still do it [IMG]

The only way its a good trade is if we can somehow lock up Michael Redd...
He could just end up walking at the end of the season and would we even be able to resign him if we took Van Horn's ridiculous contract aswell?

^You got a point but, wouldn't you like to have Redd? It's not like we are going to the playoffs, but we could make this a better year, and if we got some good pieces next year, then maybe Redd would want to come back to us

Only if he is gonna stay long term...otherwise we may be better off tankin the season.. what good would it really do to try to make this a better year at this point...We'd still be some losers, just with a worse draft position...

^Yeah, I feel the same thing man, but I think if we could get a good piece like Swift in free agency and had a good starting five, Redd would stay. Anything could be better than what he wen through in Millwauke

I don't really like it as a Bucks fan. This is another Chad Ford crap rumor. Before it was Redd for Luke Jackson and Anderson Varejao...

BTW...Redd isn't a SF, no way he can play there, he's stricly a guard.

The rumor I originaly heard had the Bucks getting GS's first as well. Which should be pretty good.

I think that I don't have to remind what will happen after this trade. Dunleavy suddenly becomes an impact player in Bucks, like all other GSW players who get traded, and we have to say again: " Now that was dumb... " [IMG] Surely I would like this trade to happen, bet there is curse over GSW.

An interesting and good rumor. I'm not sure if I like the deal, as Redd should be a restricted free agent, but we will have to well over the cap to resign him (will Cohan pay luxury tax?). It would also leave us with no small forward. Van Horn, Najera, and Zarko are 4's who can play a little 3, and JR and Pietrus are 2's that can play a little 3, but no one really belongs at that position.

I say it's a good rumor because now when Mullin goes into negotiations he has some significant leverage. He can say he has a deal put together for Redd and Van Horn, regardless of whether or not it is actually true. This kind of report will put a lot more pressure on teams who want to deal for Cliff or DD, and they may feel like they need to offer a deal that benefits us. Like I said, they compete, we win.

Bad and Fake Deal, this is the same writer that said we could get dorell wright(someone miami is not trading) for Cliffy.

Plus Redd would just split after this season and prolly end up in cleveland.

Dunleavy is actually showing heart(hornets game) and a lot of good games(3 in a row!!!) so he isn't on the block.....But fisher is.

I read about the rumor too, I don't know how credible it is and Keith Van Horn is pretty soft, inconsistent and worthless on defense as Dunleavy, but the plus side is he can shoot big shots, rebound, and post up. I like Dunleavy a little bit more now since he's playing extremely aggressive, but it can't last forever, like when Murphy returns or we start playing teams that give a darn on defense we have the dilemma again about inconsistency, lack of ball movement, Dunleavy sleepwalking on defense and not scoring from the 3, and inconsistent outside shooting and not playing to Dunleavy's strengths, etc... If we get value out of a player that doesn't really fit on this squad now for let's say a possible uprotected top 3 pick (which is highly in doubt), I'd do it. Besides, Zarko makes Dunleavy somewhat expendable and buys us some time on the next contract to sign.
Also, about Michael Redd, he is pretty much the same way on defense except he's probably considered an average defender to most because he's not a "tweener" like Dunleavy or Van Horn is, he can handle the ball and he can sure light it up shot after shot and make very difficult shots which makes him an exciting player. If we do trade Dunleavy, it's gotta be for a player in which we have the freedom to keep or let go because I don't see us keeping Michael Redd long enough to trade him this season when the deadline's already over. He can walk in the offseason and I doubt he'd want to be a Warrior when he has a chance to move closer to home and be Lebron's sidekick. I say don't do it, unless we get the rights to TJ Ford (who could be outstanding for us after his tailbone surgery). Van Horn is around for only 2005-2006 and would probably be our next big expiring contract we can move next season. I just don't see this trade really doing much for us, though, and it could be one of those "get something rather than nothing" type deals. But it's not a huge risk since we basically get another chance to sell someone an expiring deal for Van Horn next season and we would get a Speedy Claxton type player who the real Speedy Mullin is sure not to re-sign after he just gave Fisher, Murphy, Richardson and Foyle ridiculous contracts. Out of all of them Richardson is the only one who is playing up to it. And Murphy is looking bad because he's doing Fortson rebounding, and impersonating the tweener Jamison on offense and defense without the inside scoring and is a candidate to being the next Wally Sczerbiak for us once we find that power forward who can defend, score down low, rebound, and block shots. We'll have to see next season how Murphy will fit on the squad, because it makes more sense to play him at center and have some Elton Brand type player do the duties on defense. Then we'll at least have scoring come from 5 positions rather than just 4. That is if we don't get Andrew Bogut and we get somebody like Chris Taft in this year's draft. Also the thing that doesn't make sense about the rights to TJ Ford is we may be high enough to justify Chris Paul as the player to get instead of Bogut. Bogut is projected for some to be a power forward in the nba rather than a center. Given the demand for polished big men and point guards, Bogut and Paul both sound good because of their skillset and one has size and the potential to get even stronger and the other has speed and hard to find court vision and leadership qualities.

What about any rumors about 3 way trades? If Redd is being traded, then he'll probably be traded by us to some contender. Any thoughts? You think Denver would then give up Nene and throw Skita in there?

I think we should do it. Redd could be very good playing next to J-Rich nad Speedy could just feed them the ball all day and we could have 2 guys getting 20 points+ per game and one of them 6 boards. Speedy could be a real good PG to play next to them and could still get some points and assists. Also imagine Speedy breaking down the offense, getting a fast break with Redd and J-Rich to his side and, BAM! One of them goes up for a tomohawk.

Keith Van Horn I know is oft injured, but he could be a good player off the bench and could be a guy to help us late in the game and could be a good clutch player. Also he is a veteran and even though he is soft, he could be a decent bench player and could help Zarko develop even more. Also he could help fill the rebounding need we have without Murphy. I like Van Horn and I think he could be a solid bench player despite some of the things Custodian listed about him

But next offseason, where is the guarantee we can keep Redd? He is unrestricted.

I think I know what Mullin will do with Redd... he'll pull some b.s. with the Pacers and end up getting Jonathan Bender I bet. Heh, only if we get Ron Artest.

^I think Mullin is smart enough to sign Redd back, if we can get a good lineup, Redd might go for it and sign back
