It is expected that the Timberwolves will announce the firing of Head Coach Flip Saunders today, do you think he is a possibility for the Lakers?

I think Flip would love to coach in L.A. I believe Kobe Bryant would love to be under Flip, Flip would love Kobe. L.A. has a young core, Flip got Minnesota somewhere, there is no reason why he can't get L.A. somewhere. I believe is the best coach available at the moment.

That was the first thing i thought of when i heard he was fired.

Now, i think flip did a nice job with minne. But im still hoping We can get a "Phil-Pill" to fix our problems of late. Now i know its a long shot, but phil did say the lakers new young team are intreguing. Without shaq's added Ego, kobe and phil could co-exist....now kobe is no jordan (noone is) but in my opinion kobe right now is the closest. Kobe and phil could work out the problems and with kobe offering his opinion to rudy earlier in the season of using the Triangle (which is a jackson staple) there could be some promise. I know its likely but worth wating for.

LA shouldnt jump the gun here, they should look at all options first. Just like courting some chick to the prom....now you may have a few girls who is interested and you could get them no problem and it could be a nice date.....but you may want to see if you can get the most popular chick in the school first [IMG]. Just my opinions folks...dont shoot meh.

I don't think Phil will be coming back, I really think Flip is our most realistic chance...I would love Phil to come back, but if he does, I believe it will be to NY.

    Yea man, i agree^^^...

Me personally....i think its gonna take mr Bryant and mr Buss to make a effort to get Phil back....which wouldnt be a bad thing to do....the man has coached the best and it obviously shows >9 championships.

Flip would be my 3rd choice of coaches.....although i despise Larry Brown's post game interveiws (he drones on, makes me wanna pull my faciel hair out) i wouldnt mind him as a LA coach.

Anyways I think Flip would be a great pick. So far all the coaching changes during the season have worked out (Fratello, Karl, am I missing anyone else?). Maybe Flip can do for us what other coaching changes have done for underachieving teams this season.

    ....smh.

So i suppose you think the lakers dynasty breaking up was more of Kobe not saying anything to keep it together, moreso then phil complaining about kobe, shaq crying for a contract extension in preseason or mitch cupcakes supreme GM skills? What about Dr. Buss's decision to go with the logical choice for the future? Take your pick....either way you slice it, 3 eago's dont make a right and THAT's what broke up the LA dynasty, Kobe doesnt get all 100% of it....he gets a fraction yes, but not the whole load.

As for Rudy T....nice guy, soft as a twinkie. Is there a reason you have for assuming kobe "ran rudy t out of la"? id LOVE to read this.

[IMG] @ the people blaming Kobe for Rudy T. resignation. Media really does influence the simple-minded.

[IMG] Dude, c'mon. Kobe had nothing to do with Rudy T. leaving, everyone and their mothers knows that, if you don't, you have been living under a rock. Kobe pushed for Rudy here, why would he drive him out? The NBA schedule, the traveling, and the limited success, if any success is what caused Rudy to resign, Kobe had nothing to do with it.

The firing of Flip gives the Lakers another option to consider. Right now, they seem content on letting Hamblen finish out the season, instead of trying to implement a new coaching style with less than half a season to prepare for it.

Flip is a great coach and if we cannot get PJax or Riley, he would be my third choice.

Another person the Lakers might want to look at is Jeff Bedzlik (sp).

    Actually, Shapecity it's Bzdelik [IMG]

I think anyone would be an improvement. I don't think Jackson really wants to come back to LA. Kobe again? I don't know.

You just never know with PJax. He usually does the opposite of what people expect him to do.
