CLEVELAND (AP) - Lakers star Kobe Bryant will start Sunday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, returning to Los Angeles' lineup after missing 14 games with a severely sprained right ankle.

Bryant hasn't played since Jan. 13, when he rolled his ankle after stepping on the foot of Cavaliers forward Ira Newble. On Saturday, Bryant practiced at full speed and felt good enough to test his ankle.
After warming up - he didn't attempt any drives - for about 20 minutes Sunday, Bryant said he was going to play.

"Being away for a while gives you more love for the game," he said. "It feels great to be back."

Bryant's unexpected return for the finale of a five-game road trip jazzes up a matchup with Cavs' All-Star LeBron James, but more importantly it will help the Lakers, who have struggled without their leader. </div>

I'm just hoping he isn't coming back too soon. Even with the recent losing streak, I wouldn't mind him sitting out until after the All-Star game just to play it safe...

Neverthless, hopefully the Lakers will get rolling again starting tonite

I hope he is effective tonight and isn't coming back just to come back. Having him out for another week or two is a lot better than having him out for the rest of the year, or a good portion of the year.

He looks like his old self. But he's not finishing all of the moves he usually makes. They asked him before the game if he was 100% and he told them he was about 85%.

He looks good. Shooting well, 6-12, 14 points I believe it is. Had a nice layup and 1 to finish the half. He also had a steal and almost made a 3 with 1.4 seconds left. LeBron has been kept in check, only 4 points.

When Kobe wants to, he is one of the best passers in the league.

We missed atleast 10 layups. It was clear Kobe wasn't fully healthy, but he still looked good out there.

^ Oh well, he was out 30 days with a serious ankle injury.

Kobe looked real good in the first half. In the 4th, he had like 3-4 straight possessions where he drew double-triple teams, and found the open teammate(s), and they nailed the shot down. Kobe got the basket alot, and tried some crazy shots and layups, that he would normally make half of. Those will come back soon, but still nice to see him back and healthy.

Well, he was off for 30 days, and you have to realize that his ankle did start to swell up and stiffen just a little. He had some great, and I mean amazing, passes to end the game, splitting triple teams and getting the ball to the open man [IMG] had my eyes like this [IMG] , and then the open man actually made the shots... I really don't see how people think he is a bad passer, or selfish at all for that matter. He is an amazing passer, and not close to even being selfish..he takes teh shots when he has to, that is his job as team leader, plus his supporting cast has to be one of the most inconsistent supporting casts in the league.
