I thought of this around the 5th or 6th first-round-exit. But the firing of Flip was probably one of the worst decisions this franchise has ever made. All ramifications are not instant. One of the things that part of Kevin's character is loyalty. How many losing seasons has Flip endured? And I don't count 40 - 42 (even though technically it's a losing season). How many time has he been to the playoffs? Yes we had high expectations and were falling short (though a playoff seed was and is still not a long shot), but to fire Flip in the way and when they did will forever be in a players mind that regards loyalty so highly. He may feel betrayed and that we lack the respect of loyalty (read his comments about who should be blamed and loving your wife without make-up). He may feel like, if it's a numbers and wins game to you, I can't more somewhere else.

I think Miesota Management hasnt done its best job putting the proper pieces around KG. Even though it would be hard for me to see KG out of a Minnesota uniform could u really be mad at him if he demanded to be traded? I wouldnt. Its too late to try and make more cap space after spending so much money on the ungrateful spreewell and cassell. And no bodies gonna want those two guys for the amount of they are owed.
To me it was a mistake to resighn cassell after his career ending injury. But flip will get another job somewhere else. I'd just hate too see KG's career end like Malones. The best Power forward ever but never won a Chip. BUt its all in KG's court. Good luck Minnnesota!

It wouldn't come to a surprise to me if KG asked to leave.

Cassell and Spree haven't played well this season and their record shows just that. They've both aged and Spree is too busy complaining about his various problems.

Send in new guys, or send KG out of Minny. The guy gives it his all every night, the least Minnesota could do is get him better role players.

ahh...they never extended Cassell and Sprewell's contract. Anyway, I doubt we truely learn the backlash of this season until the offseason comes cause that is when the Wolves can sit back and pieace things together. I dont think KG is going to demand a trade because the Wolves are going to make major changes around him during the offseason. And probably bring in younger parts to keep him happy.

I agree with Henacy on this one.

After the end of this year, the Timberwolves will have gotten some younger talent to run with Garnett. If we continue like we are, we will most likely have a high draft pick. I truly believe that Garnett loves it here in Minnesota. He just got married a little while ago, and he and his wife have a nice home. He has a great relationship with interim head coach Kevin McHale. And, everyone in Minnesota worships him.

KG isn't Tmac, he isn't going anywhere. KG has started something in Minnesota and more than likely will not leave until he gets a title, if at all. They will make major changes in the offseason, bring in younger people, I wouldn't be surprised if they make a move by the deadline.

I don't think Kevin will leave Minnesota. He's the heart and soul of this team, the fans love him. I don't think it's in his character to ask for a trade, this is just like Iverson and Philly. Besides, the off-season is going to be interesting for the Wolves too. I wish we could get somebody younger, and say goodbye to Sam and Spree. I too wouldn't be surprised if something happens before the deadline comes around, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Wolves should've never fired Flip though, the KG/Flip relationship was healthy for the team. Oh well, time will tell where this team'll go.

I felt loyalty would be a big issue too when I first heard about the firing but when I found out that Flip would just be moved to another position within the organisation I didn't think it was too bad.

It wouldn't suprise me if KG is gone next year or the year after that. I think the new GM will want to make his own moves and he has no loyalty to KG. On the other hand, I don't see KG requesting to leave and I don't think Glen Taylor would let his new GM trade KG if it ever happens.

Who knows? After watching trades this summer where Tracy McGrady and Shaq was traded, I learned no one stays for one team forever. Those days are over.

The only way KG stays here is if McHale stays. If McHale is fired or walks away from his job, then all bets are off.

    ^Forgot Vince there.

It's the best for the franchise to start new from scratch, just like Orlando did.

From KGs point of view, it could be also the best to leave, I don't think that McHale has proven that he's able to build a team around KG and I'm sure the most he wants is a ring and I'm also sure that he doesn't want to do something like Karl Malone did. But I don't think that he'll demand a trade openly.

This is almost as same problem what the Lakers had this summer. WHat was a good value for Shaq. To me there isnt good value for KG. The man is worth alot. Every team wants him of course but any player that will be offored to the Wolves isnt enough for KG.

    On the topic for Sabretooth:

Of course he can demand a trade, in mz opinion he should have done it a long time ago cause the Wolves wont get KG any rings. I hope he will demand a trade

Dont expect KG to leave, he is one of the most untouchable players in the league, and no matter how you look at it, any GM would be nuts to trade him.

I don't know KG but he doesn't seem as a player who would give up and demand a trade but who knows? He has already said he wants to be a timberwolf for life before but many players who we've thought would never play for any other team but did. I wouldn't be surprised if he did but the wolves will never get equal value for him.

Even if the Wolves will build everything around him and try to make him happy, that doesn't mean KG will want to stay. Every team would do the same thing for KG.

The T'Wolves need to make a plan for futur and should destroy this team and start from scratch.

If i were the wolves, the only player in the league i would trade for is amare. He is on route to becoming better than garnett. I would trade sprewell and garnett for amare and someone else.

I would be very surprised for KG to demand a trade. However, I would be thrilled if the Lakers brought Flip Saunders in as the new headcoach and then traded whatever it took, not including Kobe, to bring KG to the Lakers. A duo of my two current favorite players on my favorite team would be amazing.

That would be amazing, Kobe and KG. They are great friends and could co-exist together. Kg already knows flips system, I would have a heart attack if that happened...

We will have the cap room this summer to sign ray allen anyways so why would we trade KG away for basically ray allen who may leave at the end of the season?
