What a great game. Foyle has 19 rebounds and Dunleavy is playing great. The Warriors were down 17 in the third quarter. Came back to take a 7 point lead late in the 4th and now its a tie game with 5 secs to go and Warriors ball! EDIT: Fisher steps out of bounds with one sec left to give the Suns a chance to win it in regulation.
Well, they lost. Blew the 7 pt lead. Not much has changed. Folye continues to miss dunks, but 20 rebounds is nice. Dunleavy and Fisher continue to play well though.
I can live with missed Dunks when Foyle just got 20 rebounds and shutdown Amare Stoudamire. The Warriors took too many 3's and tried to go to Richardson too many times and force it in. He had several that just popped out and wouldn't stay down... The ball should have gone in Dunleavy's hands because nobody pays attention to him, they all just want to focus on Jrich because he's the star player... That's why they put their best defensive player on him, Shawn Marion and doubled him at times... and it worked. The Warriors need to stop shooting threes and drive and get fouled because the suns have nobody to really contest them once they go inside. I mean hell, even Dfish drove in for layups without anyone to contest it.
Actually I probably can't live with Adonal Foyle's missed dunks, layups, bobbled catches because he doesn't average 18-20 boards a game (when 11 of them were offensive boards it also means we're or he's f-n missing a lot)... WTF, Mullin?
Yea, I don't get why the warriors are so three happy when they are not a good three point shooting team. Especailly Dunleavy 0-5 and Fisher 1-5. Take away those threes and those two's field goal perentage goes up above 60 and 70 percent respectivaly.

Among those 5 teams below us in 3 point fg%, there is only one team that has a lower regular field goal percentage and that's the New Orleans Hornets. Wow. We're garbage. I'm suprised they kept the game close.
Just like Barnett said, good things happen with Dunleavy has the ball. The Warriors forced it into jrich and he took some tough shots when he was having a bad game.
... and no suprise here, the warriors average opponent fg% is 46.8%. 3rd highest allowed field goal percentage for their opponents. The Warriors average field goal percentage is tied for worst in the league at 42% (tied with Knicks and Hawks actually). We are also 5th in forcing turnovers per game, but unfortunately points off turnovers is something that we don't have as a stat. I know from watching the game we hardly ever capitalize on it. We just go to the half court set which we have nobody moving off the ball sometimes or any bigs to pound the ball inside for us like a running back.

Jrich could probably finish it, but you have respect the Matrix's defense. He's an outstanding defender, he's quick, long, and he's pretty strong. Monty just didn't know what he was doing it seemed. Cliff at Center? You got to be kidding me? That guy can't move as quickly as he used to and he can't rebound.
In Mullin's prime he was great at weaving inside, scoring, drawing the foul. He shot 3's,but was a standout untill with the Pacers all he did was 3's. Dunleavy has had a couple of good games because he is using his ability to be tricky on a drive, and because he isn't just firing 3's. Ideally Dunleavy will realize that the inside -outside balance is his strength. The Warriors 3pt % has sucked for years and it's ironic since the main attraction of Dunleavy,Robinson and Fisher was supposed to be their range. Simply put,The team has to shoot twice as many 3"s in practice and half as many in games. Foyle never was a polished offensive player,if anything he has improved,Foyle always gives 100% and his D is a plus, and with this team,or any team that in the last 5 years usually won under 35%,that is something. Sure,I'd love to have Duncan, but when it comes to who we CAN get-there are very few who would improve this team much. At this point nobody knows what Biedrens will do,the fact he is not getting even garbage time action is a clue that currently his game has some shortcomings. It worries me,obviously the Warriors have no hope of even being close to the playoffs, and to me,and many on this forum, there is no logic in keeping players on the bench who need game time to reach whatever potential they have-unless the team is saying they are so inept on draft day they pick guys who'd embarass even a team near the bottom of the league

He didn't make a shot all night. Then on the other end fouls Amare in a 3 point play. Cliff Robinson has been god awful this year and I hope whichever team he gets traded to doesn't win a championship. Worthless!

Cliff has been great for us last year, but if his role on this team is to play him out of position. Forget it. Let this guy go to a winner. You have to feel sorry for Cliff. He's been a true pro on a team that's way below him, he's been terrific at power forward for us and he's running out of time. He had his chance last year to be on the championship Pistons and they traded him for Bob Sura who they ended up giving to the Hawks. This guy isn't getting younger and the dropoff in his game could be tremendous. Let this guy go to a winner to at least show appreciation.

I mean when people are hating on Murphy and praising Dunleavy and then when Murphy comes back hating on Dunleavy... one or both of those pieces just don't fit right. And you know it's true because those two players bring two good things to the floor (rebounding/scoring versus passing/ballhandling/scoring), but they don't play the defensive end in the way you'd like. Yeah Jrich is good, but you saw how Marion just took him out of the game. We need to pray we get that number one pick this year and stay the third worst team in the entire NBA because we need a big guy that can get double teamed and pass like a point guard and hit the outside shooter in the hands. You know Fisher could at least do that. I totally agree about why the f are we playing Cheaney of all players or Robinson when these guys are basically gone? It can't be to up their value.
Really sad to see Fisher drop the ball out of bounds with a chance to win in regulation and to see the Warriors just let a 7 pt lead evaporate in regulation and a 6 pt lead in OT. I think the Warriors' best bet is to play small ball the rest of the year. That means Foyle/Murphy at the 5 and Dunleavy at the 4. Dunleavy is more comfortable using his quickness against 4s than his size on the smaller players. He has now produced in a stretch of 5 or so games and is showing that he can be a player in the league. Look back and acknowledge that he never complained when he could have.
He's doing great, but too bad he's not a true 4. What would be his ideal running mates between the actual 4 spot and the 2 guard spot? Obviously you want him to play the 3, but not have him guard the actual 3 in the game unless you trust your weakside and transition defenders. On the perimeter, there's just too many times he just geaten beaten from behind the arc, but he seems to be doing okay against smaller lineups against the Suns, Hornets. He did well against the Magic.

It's pretty sad that this was Cliff's final game as a Warrior, I would have liked him to leave on a good note. I still have crazy respect for the guy, anyone who can give up a lot of weight at the 5 and still be an amazing post defender every night is really something special. I'm going to miss him. On the Dunleavy subject, I think he can still play from the 3 like he has been playing from the 4, he just needs to keep the same aggresive mindset. And if he starts off the game by going to the rim hard for a dunk, he is going to be a lot more successful going against Joe Johnson than Amare Stoudemire. If Montgomery keeps mixing in some sets where we go to Dunleavy at the high and low posts, that will help him to keep thinking about scoring. He isn't going to be able to drive quite as well from the 3, but it is going to be a lot easier for him to finish, and he should see himself at the freethrow line quite a bit as well. As far as defense goes, if a team is running a 3 guard set (which has become so popular nowadays), sticking Dunleavy on the player with the shortest shooting range would not be a bad strategy. That way he can play off of them and will have an easier time cutting them off when they slash.
