<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font size="1">KG not consulted Wolves star Kevin Garnett said he was not consulted about the firing of coach Flip Saunders. "I was told when I came in for practice [Saturday]," Garnett said. "Kevin [McHale] pulled me to the side and let me know that [owner] Glen [Taylor] had made the decision to let him go. "No one wants to see a grown man lose his job, especially someone who's been a part of our team the majority of my career. "It wasn't good." Does he agree with the move? "It doesn't matter if I agree with it or not," he said. "The boss made a move." Larry Bird, former NBA Coach of the Year (1997-98) and McHale teammate (back in the day) who's now president of basketball operations for Indiana, about McHale's choice of himself to be head coach: "It's easier sitting up in the stands coaching than it is on the floor, I guarantee you that. I'm a better coach up there than I was on the floor."</font></div> Link
This shows that the move was irrational by Glen Taylor not to mention it's a desperation act for a guy who is trying to save his own job in Kevin McHale. Obviously, Taylor felt something had to be done dramatically so Flip was gone.
What Garnett said obviously means that he didn't agree. He made it sound spiteful in that the boss controls it. If he would have been happy, he would have gone out and said that.
