ESPN.com's Marc Stein was on SportsCenter and he talked about how Sixers turned down the deal to acquire Spree because McHale wanted Willie Green. The deal was about to made, but McHale got greedy and he got burnt. Bad job by him. The purpose is to dump Spree at any cost. Being greedy by getting one more player is not helping. Robinson for Spree was good enough. Spree would be gone and Glenn would be a rental. McHale got greedy and it cost him.

Iam going to put it like that this the Wolves arent going to get robbed just to take a deal. Glenn Robinson is as much of a team cancer as Sprewell. But isnt as good of a player even with Spree struggling, that is why Jim O'brien pretty much told him dont even show up. The Wolves are better just sitting on Spree's contract then making that BS move. Trading Spree for Robinson wouldnt have saved Flip Suanders job.

Plus to trade spree for robinson they need to include another player such as green to make the salarly cap match up....while maybe he could of asked for a differnent player we still would need to do a two for one wiht spree cause of his high salary(which he sitll cant feed his family on) I agree with henacy lets just keep spree unless we can get someone who really will make us better if we pulled of this move for the big dog we would get a guy who hasnt played this season and has a lower amout of salary cap room to come off the books to sign free agents with this summer.

Here is the thing. Robinson was going to leave in two months and the Wolves would still have cap room just like with Spree's departure. He wasn't coming back next year as he is in his final year of his contract. He was going to serve his time for two months and move on. I look at Robinson at low risk high reward.

Besides Robinson would have to work hard and play for his next job next year so he would have used his opportunity for the Timberwolves had he been there.

Obviously in a perfect world, Spree would be released with two months to go and he would get his buyout, but Glen Taylor has no interest in doing that so trading Spree would be a best option.

Paulijacks: Thanks for correcting me on why he wanted Green just so he can match the contracts in making the trade work.
