i doubt the wolves would give up kg and the raps wuold give up bosh.... too bad u didnt get carter thought i felt u offerered way more than nj did
I really don't think the sixers would trade Iverson for anything other than another star player, Philly wouldn't have much at the end of that.
This is hard to believe, especially a guy like Allen who has so much heart, who trys day in and day out for this team. I don't think I can believe it until Iverson actually gets traded, he has been the icon of the city for basketball for almost 10 years now. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Philadelphia trades: PG Allen Iverson (29.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.7 apg in 42.1 minutes) Philadelphia receives: PG Baron Davis (19.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.8 minutes) PF Chris Andersen (7.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.3 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.2 ppg, +5.3 rpg, and +0.6 apg. New Orleans trades: PG Baron Davis (19.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.8 minutes) PF Chris Andersen (7.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.3 minutes) New Orleans receives: PG Allen Iverson (29.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.7 apg in 42.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: +3.2 ppg, -5.3 rpg, and -0.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED </div> That is the only thing I can think of at the moment where we would get a star back. I never really liked Iverson, but I think now I am starting to get what he means to this franchise at the risk of losing him, how much he brings to the table.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know what to say. There are many appealing options out there for us in terms of trading the little guy. The only possible scenarios that I see as semi-appealing would be sending Iverson and Thomas to New Orleans for Davis and Magloire or sending Iverson and one of our young guys, such as Salmons, to Minnesota for Garnett.</div> A trade with New Orleans is possible, but they won't want his contract without having some incentive to get it. They're trying to cut costs as opposed to add to them, and Iverson would want a trade from their too because he'd be in an even worse situation. New Orleans has no obligation and is in no rush to trade Baron or Magloire, so they won't do anything stupid. Minnesotta would'nt do a KG for Iverson and Salmons, I can't think of a GM that would really. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Personally, I think we should try to weasel our way into getting a young big man who's already achieved star status. Enter Chris Bosh. I'm not sure what it would take, but I think he'd be a great pickup for us. If we could hold on to Dalembert, Korver, and Green, and also pick up Bosh, our team would having one hell of a nucleus to build upon. [This may seem crazy, but I'm sure for the right price Toronto would give him up. Perhaps agreeing to take Jalen Rose?]</div> Their is a 0% chance of the Raptors trading Bosh for Iverson, Bosh is a 20 year old guy who is becoming an 18-20 points, 8-10 rebounds player. Like they always say, you don't trade a big for a small, especially a super potential 20 year old big for a 30 year old slightly injury prone huge contract small. The Raptors are not looking to win right away, so Iverson means nothing to us, he just hampers our future cap wise, and takes away the center piece of our rebuilding. When you trade a guy like Iverson, you're not going to get fair value at his age. The Dallas trade is also bad, Dallas plays on team work and ball movement, and Iverson's game wouldn't fit with Dirk, they also give up way too many players, and I'll say right now that Dallas is not one of the teams that will look to acquire him, I don't see them having any interest. Iverson is frustrated, but the management has moved away any possible 2nd option because of Iverson. He hasn't shown the ability to co-exist with other superstars [All-Star game doesn't count], and they've been moved because they don't "work well" with him, then their was GRob who was just an idiot.
Wow I am <u>stunned</u> by this, especially comming off of last night's win and the way the Sixers have been playing as of late and the position they are in right now. They are battling for the Atlantic Division crown with the likes of Dalembert, Iquadala, Korver, and Williamson backing him up. But before we jump to conclusions and accusations/trade ideas, how credible is this article?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Allen Iverson says he wants to play the rest of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. ``I want to be right here,'' Iverson said after Tuesday's practice. ``If I could have a wish, I would wish it's the last time I have to say that. I would wish people would know this is where I want to be.'' Iverson was responding to a story in Tuesday's edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer that said his agent met with Sixers president Billy King last week to express the star guard's unhappiness over the direction of the team and that he wanted to be traded if there weren't roster upgrades. King did meet with Iverson's agent, Leon Rose, but insisted Tuesday he does not have an unhappy All-Star on his team. ``He never asked to be traded and he does not want to be traded,'' King said. </div> Iverson Wants to Stay a 76er So much for that rumor.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtKing:</div><div class="quote_post">All the fuss for nothing...</div> Amen...knew it was too crazy to be true...
I knew this couldn't be possible... Stephen A. Smith had me there for a second, but this just came out of nowhere, which made it a little fishy. It would make more sense, if this article came out while the 76ers were on a 6-game losing streak not when they're at .500 and on top of the Atlantic Division. I'm just happy that this whole thing was a bunch of nonsense. This whole thing would have caused a major distraction and that?s the last thing we need especially at the time when we?re suppose to be making a major run for the postseason. *Takes huge sigh of relief*
