<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TORONTO -- With the National Basketball Association's trading deadline only eight days away, Rob Babcock is out there like a wary consumer on the hunt for a new car, kicking tires and checking under the hood.

"We're talking to teams, as is everybody in the league," Babcock said yesterday. "What everybody does now is, it's kind of like their final survey stuff. You go through the league and you talk to everybody and you see who's interested in doing things, what you like on their team, what they like on your team.

"It's all posturing right now and we get to the all-star game this weekend and we get more personal one-on-one discussions with different GMs in the league."

Making some sort of move has definitely moved past the posturing stage for the Raptors. With a record of 21-31, they have the 24th worst record in the 30-team NBA.

Only the fact that the Raptors reside in the low-rent district of the Atlantic Division, where the five teams have a combined won-loss record of 115-144 heading into last night's play, is keeping Toronto's slender playoff hopes alive. Each of the six division winners automatically qualifies for the postseason.

Despite his team's woeful record, Babcock insists he is not itching to shuffle his roster heading into the Feb. 24 trading deadline.</div> Source

id say the only players that shouldnt be on the table for us are bosh and bonner. id even consider throwing bonner into the equasion if the deal is right. bosh is our only untradable as far as im concerned.

Bosh is the only untouchable. But unless its a sweat ass deal i wouldnt want to trade Hoffa or Mo.

In my opinion, other than Bosh and Sow who are considered untradebles, everybody on the roster has as much of a chance at getting dealt as anyone else (Including Hoffa' and Matt).

Well we all know that our hottest trading commodity is Donyell Marshall at this point. It is absolutely imperative that we get rid of him before the trade deadline or else we will be left with nothing at the end of the year.

I have heard of a rumour about Donyell to Miami for Dorrell Wright but I don't know how credible that is. Personally I wouldn't mind bringing the youngster onto this team. I dont' know if he'll be ready this year or the next but it would go along with our focus on getting young long term talent.

Man, I'd love to bring Dorrell to this team.
I'd offer Donyell Marshall straight up if it's needed.

As much as everyone likes Bonner, the guy doesn't have much potential nor is he very athletic, so he is a tradeable asset. Bosh and Sow are our only untradeables as of this moment. However, once Pape Sow gets minutes and shows everyone how much of a talented big man he is, I think he'll be on the trading block. He plays the same position as Bosh so it's best to trade him to add more depth to our other positions.

we have a solid rotation in front, as long as hoffa develops, i wouldn't trade hoffa since he has so much to prove, i mean e.curry had 3yrs to prove b4 he was consider a trade bait. rose and mo pete should be kept too, rose brings passion, leadership and some needed scoring at cluch, and mopete gives us the perimeter D we lack most. alston has the court vision that none of our previous pg had, i like to work on him as well, can't expect a relationship without any obstacles. our trade baits should be the williamses, marshall coz bonner can clearly take his minutes, murry who knows nothing about the word "passing", and all i ask for is a little more d from the perimeter, just to backup rose, and can score when asked to, sorta like a Sura kinda guy, and a draft or 2. after that we have a solid foundation of role players and go-to guy, bosh-rose-alston, and off the bench sura..., wala playoffs and more improvements from the offseason, go raps go!!

But I highly doubt that there's any truth to the rumour, Riley already said that Wright is untouchable and a key part to the future of the franchise.... Shaq is also high on the kid too so I doubt he'd want to see Wright being dealt too.

But if we could work something out where we could get Dorrell for Marshall, then I'd wouldn't be against it one bit. Dorrell has loads of potential and would be perfect for a team like the Raps who are in a rebuilding process.

A trade is possible, although Heat president Pat Riley sounded reluctant when he announced the addition of Mourning. Another shooter would help, with Donyell Marshall certainly in play from Toronto. But the Heat remains reluctant to part with either Michael Doleac or Dorell Wright.

I understand for the Heat. Those two look good for the team but, they have to do what they have to do. Anyway, I think Toronto can use some picks young players etc.

Bandwagoner. If you aren't a fan, why are you trying to be part of the Raptors community then? [IMG]

As for Babcock building for the future, I find that a better idea, as his move for the present at the start of the season turned out to be a total wreck. Now we're stuck with Williams and Williams, and Hoffa is anything but the NBA-ready player that we had labelled him as. We're better off getting picks, because there is no point in making the playoffs then getting swept out in the first round. Get a chance at winning the lottery, then the future will be bright. Teams like Boston and New York had a lot of people questioning whether they should have just lost their way out of their playoff position, then get a shot at getting a better pick.

Well, I'm glad to see that your such a fan of my posts that you track down some of my posts but, I post other places. I post in the college forum here and there, I also post in the NBA forum, the All-star forum, Nets sometimes, Bucks and a whole bunch of other threads. The Rockets forum is alright, but many of the stuff doesn't have to do with me. No trades or anything.

Alright, someone like Henacy loves the Nets but he posts in the Knicks forum often, and here is a good one, 02civic posts a lot in the Knicks forum...does that mean they're bandwagoner too?

I never said you were a bandwagoner because you post in the Knicks forum. I was referring to your statement that you would be a Raptors fan if Toronto won the championship. And Henacy posts in the Knick forum because he lives in New York, which means he must have some insight on the team. 02civic in London, Ontario is also exposed to quite some Knicks news as he is also fairly close to New York. And I post in the Raptors forum because they are my home team, so I give a hoot about what they do.
