What I hate most about college basketball are the sudden fans. I mean it used to be duke then ucon now illini. Just because their winning everyone suddenly likes them. I'm not talking to fans who have been with this team through wins and losses. Their fine but the fans that follow the winnig team. Like next year if kentucky was number one all the fans that liked Illini would go to liken Kentucky. I hate those type of people. Go Illini

Go Illini</div> I know what you mean, but I haven't seen too much of that where I live. I mostly see UNC/Duke bandwagoners. That's the most annoying part of college basketball. In my opinion, to be given any bragging rights you should have to be a long-time fan of that college, a student or former student of that college, or a local living in the same city as that college. I just don't think it's right that guys should rub it into my face when Duke beats Michigan State if they're 15 year olds living in Canada who have only followed the team for 2 years. Anyway, nice to see you around the boards. Go Illini.
There will always be bandwagon fans, and with the ease of searching online it's easy to fake your loyalty to a team. I've always followed the Cal Bears, they were all the rage in the Bay Area and most of it surrounded Jason Kidd. They haven't had many stars with Kidd's following ever since, but I always check in on how the team is doing and which players they were able to recruit. At the same time I became a huge fan of Grant Hill and started following him and Duke. Although I don't really cheer for Duke, I respect what their program is all about, and I always cheer them on to beat NC and win the ACC. Before all the high school talent started jumping to the pros, the college game was more intriguing to me. I followed the Pac-10 closely, and I clearly remember all the Cal bandwagoners jumping on to the Arizona Wildcats bandwagon, and then over to UCLA and Stanford. All the overnight Casey Jacobsen and Mark Madsen fans were the absolute worst. Then of course there were the Fab Five groupies, who started wearing black socks whe they balled. Before that there were the Runnin' Rebel fans, sporting the Starter Parkers.
