Has there been any news as to if he's going to skip the All-Star game? As far as I know, he's going to go, which I feel is kinda selfish. Why you wonder? 1)To see your team horrifically underacheive, 2)You've skipped the Olympics to "give some other guys a shot at the Gold since you already have one", 3) Your obviously injured (is it the left knee?). These are points that should take presedence (if that's the correct spelling) over the game. I do understand that it's fun and ultra-competitive (due to the caliber of the opponents), but there's more than just this game to worry about.

It will be a smart move passing it out and rest. it's clear KG's getting low numbers in all area's right now. if he was at 100% we were a lot more safe and not getting so out rebounded though it aint an excuse...

i really would like to see him there but i've got a feeling he won't star at the game...this show is all about lebron,Amare and the other youngsters...
garnett isn't at the top of his play right now so he might better rest and help to team push harder towards the 8th seed later on...

Yes, he really should rest but I think it's nearly 100% sure that he goes. NBA.com has even his pic with the allstar jersey on the front page.

But I doubt, he'll see that much minutes, as the main event said, it's all about the youngstars, I think we'll see more minutes from Amare, Dirk and Shawn Marion than from KG.

He earned it to start in the All-Star game I say he should play in the game.

When I think about it more, I really wouldn't mind him sitting this year out. It isn't like he has to go out and prove anything to anyone. He is a true baller and warrior, and everyone already knows that.

I really don't think Garnett would care all that much either. He isn't a guy that needs too much spotlight in order for him to operate.

If he is as hurt as he says he is, I think he should give it rest.

Seeing how he and the team aren't one of your favorites, I wouldn't expect you to care about my arguments.

He will likely play in the ASG and not play that many minutes. His minutes will likely be limited. I really hope that's the case.

I would love to see him miss the ASG. He will be back next year so he can afford to take a year off. I understand he has an obligation to the fans that voted for him, but ASG is no big deal. I doubt I will be watching the game. I just don't see any appeal to it. It's one thing to make it for the first time ever, but as the years goes on and you played the ASG for so many years, it's just not a big deal anymore. I think he would be better off resting his body and his legs.

well, knowing Garnett, he will probably go to the all-star game, with or without injuries. With his passion and loyalty to the fans, he will not miss on the event. still i hope he takes it easy though. its fun to watch the ASG, but like Timberwolf said, its not big deal

Seeing how KG plays, he'll play even with his injury. It's just his nature of competiveness. To me it's not selfish because I would do it because he earned it. Even if it doesn't have any meaning to the team's season, it is still a event that many players in the world would want to play in. And I'm not sure about this but wasn't it because Kevin was suppose to get married that he didn't go to the Olympics? It would be better to rest his knee and not play but it won't happen.

Just to add that, I don't care much for ASG games. The NBA All-Star Game is not that special. The NHL All-Star Game is a joke. Pro Bowl is pathetic. MLB All-Star Game was great when I was a kid as the NL and AL hated each other in the 80s, but things have changed with the free agency and such.

Garnett's desire to skip the A.S.G. shows that he has his head on straight and knows to look at the big picture. The leagues big picture (at this time) was the A.S.G. and would not hear it. Either play or sit for 5 games. Good work anyway KG.
