<div class="quote_poster">Quoting R_ChutneY:</div><div class="quote_post">The rook'soph MVP doesn't mean much in my opinion anyway. Its basically who can put up the most points without trying. IMO Bosh could have had 20 rebs with that many missed jumpers, so his other stats don't really matter. In that game only points made a difference, so Melo deserved it.</div>
It's just a pointless game for entertainment purposes only. It means nothing. I don't know why people are taking this so seriously.

So if this is the case, then why do you have a problem with Bosh winning the award (had he won it)? Like I said before, I have no problem what-so-ever with Melo winning MVP...... but Bosh was also deserving of the award so what's wrong with him winning it? It's just a meaningless game right?

Bosh had a good game, but it's All Star weekend and it's in Denver. Like it or not Melo is going to get the upperhand. Besides, no one really takes anything seriously this week. It's no biggie - the real NBA fans know he had a good game.

The only thing I didn't like were the headlines after the game. They were basically saying 'Melo, Lebron and Wade led the way.' Bosh's name wasn't mentioned in one of the articles until the last couple of paragraphs. His name just isn't 'known' like the others.

I think Melo deserved it more but if Bosh won it would have been cool with me too. I said Bosh played very well. It's cool whoever wins it. I didn't watch the game to see any of them really but to have a good time and see some great highlights. I think that we shouldn't take this seriously. I mean he played well and according to many of you should be the MVP. If that's the case you know how good he is and should be satisfied that you have a nice young player in your hands. Many people such as myself wish that they could have their rookie/sophomore representing their favorite teams.

Just wanted to clear that up.

But at least I found one non-Canadian article that gave Bosh some recognition.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, but their stats were all pretty good. It was close and I'm sure the fact he entertained more was taken into consideration. I even heard an announcer say you would have never knew Bosh was playing so long. </div>

The announcer said the opposite, he said that it seemed Bosh was in the game for so long, because of his presence even though he had not played the entire game.

Bosh definately deserved it more, but it's not that big of a deal. Melo played well, it was his hometown, I had a good feeling at the end of the game he would win it.

Man, we have some whiny fans, who cares about a Rookie game MVP, Jordan had a triple double in the 97' All-Star game with 14-11-11 and 2 steals, but Glen Rice who had 26 points, 1 rebounds, and 1 assist won MVP. Vin Baker even had better numbers than Glen Rice, All-Star games are mostly about scoring when it comes down to MVP.

Not everything is related to players being in Canada, everyone seems to always bring this up with anything regarding our players, the people weren't sitting there thinking well he plays for a Canadian team, so we better not give it to him.

First off, Bosh only had 5 points less than Melo, so had Jordan had 21-11-7, I think Jordan would have won. The scoring difference between 14 and 26 is too large.

Secondly, its not that they actually think, well he plays for Canada so lets not vote for him. Its because due to the fact he is in Canada, they don't care about watching his team as much. Also that his team is struggling, they don't see him play as much, therefore don't have as much interest or love for CB4.

So I'm guessing you were referring to what I wrote..... if that's the case then you misunderstood what I meant. I was just referring to post game reports made by non-Canadian reporters that would barely even mention Bosh despite his performance. As already stated, some would even mention Lebron and Wade in the headlines and not even write Bosh's name until the end of the article.
