Impact player who would help take Lakers to the playoffs? Don't see how Boozer can be that guy. No doubt he is a very soild player who can put up numbers but isn't what I would call a big impact player and a guy worth a 3 for 1 deal. If It isn't Baron Davis then It's a waste of time for the Lakers. Getting rid of 3 of your players for Boozer is not smart. Baron Davis is in the doghouse right now with Bryon Scott and has been told to stay in L.A. So who knows, he may be the guy. If It is Baron Davis then the Lakers should have a much better chance at making the post season If he stays heathly. Wether or not he would fit in with the Lakers remains to be seen but on paper a Davis, Kobe, Odom trio would be dangerous.
Frontcourt help? That seems to be the biggest hint in all of this. I am not a big laker fan at all, but i am a fan of Caron Butler and Lamar Odom. I understand trying to make some moves to be a playoff contender, but it would be a shame to break up these two. Both highly talented and skilled and mesh well together. Plus that Kobe guy makes a nice nucleus. One more piece would be great, but if it was to be a big name, it looks as though the lakers would let butler go. That would be a damn shame IMO.
They are probably just hyping up the trade!!! And after all the sleepless nights while you all lay there wondering, it will probably be Donyell Marshall or something!!

And after all the sleepless nights while you all lay there wondering, it will probably be Donyell Marshall or something!!</div> You might have a point. If it is Davis, it would definitely put the Lakers over the top. However, with Baron's injury problems from the past, there is a chance he might turn into a Grant Hill, and handicap the Lakers' cap situation for the next five years. If he's healthy though, look for the Lakers to become a Mav-like team. Davis can play the secondary role, like he did in his third season with Mashburn, and averaged 18.5ppg and 8.5apg. Those are very good stats there, and I would expect him to be willing to submit to this role, as he would probably do anything to get out of New Orleans. Allen would also be a good option, but would the Lakers re-sign him after his contract expires?
Trust me, we're not getting Kevin Garnet. I would LOVE to have him but I don't see it happening, guys... don't get your hopes on him, it won't happen. Ray Allen is possible... but a 'frontcourt' man? Can't be him as Shape said... It's definitly Donyell Marshall or Carlos Boozer or something, sorry to shatter all our dreams. :/
If it is Donyell I am going to go beat in Jack's head with a bat. That will not put us over the top... The wait is killing me... I am still thinking Baron Davis...I mean look at the situation with him...in L.A. rehabing, in Scott's doghouse, was told to stay in L.A.... EDIT: Rumor at CL that a member says he heard from a "source" (Do I believe it? Hell no) Lakers Trade: Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, and Devean George Lakers Get: Kevin Garnett Do I think it is going to happen? Not a chance in hell...so take it for what its worth.
Your not going to get a reigning NBA MVP for players like those, I can make a 100% guarantee on that. BD would defiantly be nic ein a Lakers uni. But considering they are looking to aquire frontcourt help then I don't know if the Lakers even want him.
Well..rumor has it the Jazz announced a press conference for tomorrow..and the rumor is they are going to announce a trade...I heard that at the ESPN boards...I dont know how credible that is... I don't want to give up 3 players for Boozer...that will not put us over the top...

I don't like the size of Boozer's contract and he's not worth 3 for 1 IMO, unless the Lakers don't have to give up Butler, Kobe, or Odom to get him. The Jazz are hurting for a point guard, but I can't see them wanting Chucky, because they aren't in a playoff race. I have to imagine Walton, Vujacic, or Cook is involved, and either Divac or Devean George.

Boozer is a nice young player who can help because he is a nice young big man however, 3 for 1 no. The Jazz giving up Boozer will most definitely want Odom or Butler. Shape, the Lakers will never give up Boozer for Kobe, at least I don't think so. Also Luke was looking really good. The Lakers I think should try and get Baron. Two players demanding too much respect. If they can do it with only giving up Odom or Butler and nothing too big, than it will be a good trade.
I would hate if Boozer came to the Lakers. Yes, we need a big man but I would rather not give up what Caron Butler offers us. Kevin Garnett??? hahaha that gave me a good laugh...if only tho. If the Raptors got Butler for Marshall that'd be great for both teams but Butler has more potential wheras Marshall could help you guys for the rpesent and he definetly will not put you "over the top", just offer more rebounding and 3 point shooting. My friend said it's most likely B.diddy but then the whole front court thing came in and now I'm anxious to hear the revalations of this trade. I pray to god Carlos Boozer isn't the one because I really don't like him much but hey, if he helps us win, it's all good. I really don't think he's worth giving up Atkins AND Butler. Ray Allen- out of question because Sonics are enjoying a great season and they wouldn't just break up thier nucleus at the all-star break.
If there isn't a trade...I seriously will beat down Jack. We could be waiting until Friday to hear about a deal, and Devean George will not be involved. He has stated that he won't come off of IR to after the deadline, and you can't trade players on the IR.
"Definite Impact"...... "Over the top"..... "Exciting"......OMG The Lakers are gonna get TIM THOMAS!!!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BobbyEscobar:</div><div class="quote_post">"Definite Impact"...... "Over the top"..... I am still sold on the Baron Davis trade, I don't want to accept Boozer for 3 players...watch it turn out to be a trade of scrubs... Here is an article: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Just when it seemed the Los Angeles Lakers were going to hold fast at the trade deadline, Jack Haley of Fox Sports in Los Angeles revealed late Friday that the Lakers were in serious discussions with an undisclosed team. Haley stated that LA was close to a deal that would send out three players for a single, impact player. He said that the Lakers have already warned one of their players that they're likely to be moved within the next 24 hours. For those not familiar with Haley, he's the basketball analyst for the Southern California Sports Report on Fox Sports West. He is part of the Laker pre-game broadcast and is well connected with the organization. Can't quite remember him breaking a trade before, but it's safe to say the Lakers are working on some sort of deal. Whether it falls through or not is a different story. Jack was not able to reveal any names but did give one hint . . . </div> http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_11673.shtml
Why are all of you so sold on Davis? This is the same Davis that is one of the most injury prone players in the NBA. I would hate to trade Odom for him. BTW I love Baron Davis, he is one of my favorite players but he's hard to rely on.

I think Baron could stay healthy here, he wouldn't be the main option so his stress and work load wouldn't be as much, he would be able to rely on Kobe and Lamar a little. These rumors are getting out of hand now...people are saying over at ESPN now that its for AK47..if nothing happens..Jack deserves to be fired...
This news is huge and the rumors about who the Lakers are going to get has ranged from Baron Davis, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, SAR, Donyell Marshall, Carlos Boozer, Ron Artest, Antoine Walker, Michael Redd, and the latest AK47. The known details is the Lakers will give up 3 players for 1 player. It is not a 3 team deal, which means Slava will definitely not be involved. Apparently the players involved has changed since yesterday, so nothing has been finalized and everything is speculation at this point.
My guess is still Baron Davis, if not Baron..then Boozer. I don't see us getting KG in reality, in my dreams is another story
Man KG looked miserable in his interview on TNT, I say T'Wolves trade him to the Lakers to get him happy again
