Yea he looked really bad, I made a thread about it..I have so much respect for him after watching that..more than I ever did. That is a true leader...trade him to L.A. though
emplay@hoopsworld.com wrote a great article on this trade speculation: http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_11673.shtml He's betting on Boozer.
The Jazz are looking to make a trade, but they can do better than a Boozer for Caron Butler, Vlade Divac and Devean George. Divac would probably end up being waived, and George would go to the bench. However, Harpring is already an effective option off the bench at SF. The Jazz already have Kirilenko / Harpring at SF, they don't want any more SF's. Butler is a good, young player, but the Jazz like Boozer far more. Butler would also make Kirilenko go to PF, but he is better suited to SF in the West. Cap relief isn't enough incentive for this trade to go down either. A first round pick would have to replace Divac in the trade, and even then I doubt this would happen. Boozer is averaging 18/9 and he's only in his 3rd year. If the Jazz are looking to upgrade at any position, it's PG.
Finally another source has talked about the rumor. Source Odom for Boozer. I'm not feeling this trade for either team.

odom for peja was rejected a few days ago... 27/73 ratio of Boozer ending up a laker in a deal not including lamar

Thank the Lord it was rejected.. Ugh, Odom for Boozer..that is horrible trade I think. Odom is a much more versatile player...
Mihm, boozer, odom, kobe, ? ?--may be traded that would win the east by 15 games...4 or 5 seed in the west
Chucky, Kobe, Butler, Boozer, Mihm.... That is a good lineup, I much would rather have Davis, Bryant, Jones, Odom, Mihm
I'm not feeling a trade for B.Diddy at all. We're having a hard enough time tapping the full potential of Kobe & Odom playing together...why add another player that demands control of the ball to be effective? Also, B.Diddy's skills will be completely wasted in the triangle offense. We learned that last year with GP.
AK 47 hey? That would be nice the man is a workhorse and very multi talented i would probably prefer him over Boozer at this stage, he is just more versatile and since you will be giving up 3 players to get him, having a versatile player will help compensate for the losses.
I think acquiring Diddy could really help us. He is one of the best passing PG's in the league at full health. I think he wants to win ala VC. I think he would be willing to adapt to being a 2nd or 3rd option on the team, and being the pg he would have the ball a lot. It just depends though, that is what I think...not what is going to happen.
There is almost no chance of AK47 leaving Utah because of his ''poison pill'' contract. This is the defintition I got off another board. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The second troublesome contract is nicknamed a "poison-pill contract." This contract is reserved for players in their rookie contract who sign long-term extensions in the fall. Because extensions don't kick in until July 1 of the next year, a special rule applies. If a team tries to trade a player still in his rookie contract with a pending extension between the date his extension is signed and the date it takes effect, the poison-pill provision kicks in. The team that sends out the contract uses his current salary to figure his value. The team that receives his contract must average his current salary with the salaries he's paid in each year of the extension. For example, Andrei Kirilenko signed a six-year, $86 million contract extension last summer. If the Jazz wanted to trade Kirilenko, they would use his current salary ($1.7 million) to figure his trade value. The value of Kirilenko's contract to the team acquiring him, however, would be $12.5 million. Unless the team trading for Kirilenko was $11 million under the cap, it wouldn't be able to swallow the difference. Poison-pill contracts are almost impossible to trade, especially when a low-salaried player such as Kirilenko signs such a huge extension.</div> - Philter1111, JazzHoops.

Three players (Kobe, Diddy & Odom) that require handling the ball to maximize their skills...sorry, that just does not work out. You have to consider that the Lakers are moving more and more towards the triangle offense. B.Diddy and triangle offense just do NOT go together at all. AK47, on the other hand, now that's a player that I would love to see on the squad. An amazingly lengthy, versatile player that has potential to play defense reminiscent of vintage Pippen. Wishful thinking but I don't think that's gonna happen.
i dont really want Caron to go, he is awesome, especially after i saw that video of how he got in the NBA or started playing basketball

If we were going to tie up this much money into a player, why didn't we just keep Shaq?
Thanks for the info on the poison pill contract thats some crazy s**t that i had never heard about. Well i guess the lakers will not get AK47, i still do not think Boozer is that great of a trade especially if you have to lose Caron Butler. I guess out of all the speculation Baron Davis may help the team the most, but he definitely has the potential through injury and ball hoggin to hurt the team the most also.
It is a horrible trade. Odom is arguably the better rebounder, he isn't as physical, but he is more versatile. And if I am not mistaken, I think Kobe has more blocks than Boozer this year...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobebryant89:</div><div class="quote_post">God I will be freaking pissed if it's Odom for Boozer.
