<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BallerAK47:</div><div class="quote_post">This isn't making the Lakers a contender or anything, but it helps them. Wouldn't help Utah at all. I still don't believe Haley, but we shall see</div>

Yea, but this could be a trade for Phil Jackson, who is rumored to of agreed to a 5 year 50 mil. dollar deal to take over next year...compare this team (if the trade goes through) to one of Phil's championship teams..

    <u>Bulls</u>
    Armstrong
    Jordan
    Pippen
    Grant
    Longley

    <u>Lakers</u>
    Atkins
    Bryant
    Odom
    Boozer
    Mihm

That is the closest lineup the league has seen since that Bulls team....give them an offseason learning the triangle and you better believe they will be contenders...

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lakers1:</div><div class="quote_post">if it doesnt happen now i will shoot jack haley</div>

Oh, I should give you my address now..there is going to be a mob outside of Haley's house tomorrow morning if this isn't true...that mob, led by me

I believe this is Haley's direct quote..

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jack Haley:</div><div class="quote_post">"Well I have breaking news for the LA Lakers. Last night I reported the Lakers were close to making a trade, tonight I'm telling you that trade is going to go down. The Utah Jazz and the LA Lakers have come to an agreement on a trade. The Lakers giving up Vlade Divac, Caron Butler and Devean George. Utah giving back power forward Carlos Boozer. It's a big trade for the LA Lakers. What's holding it up? League approval. You won't hear about it for the next 24 hours, but as soon as it's approved...believe me, Carlos Boozer will be an LA Laker."</div>

well he gave Okur and Boozer huge contracts, so obviously HE IS THAT DUMB [IMG]

why do you think the Jazz wont trade Boozer? they are going to struggle to win 30 games this year.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting emplay:</div><div class="quote_post"> Hey guys - just got back in - have to help my wife with the baby [IMG]

    I have a second source - but I can't name it.

I can say that Brad Turner is scheduled to be on the Southern California Sports Report Tomorrow. He's a beat reporter for the Riverside Press-Enterprise and has had all the scoops since the summer.

Only reason he'd be on air would be to discuss a trade - that's circumstantial at best - but pieces are coming together.</div>

Emplay writes articles for hoopshype I believe it is, here is the link to where you can find him... http://p074.ezboard.com/fnotmesutahjazzfrm...rt=261&stop=272

He is pretty credible from what I understand..

Here is another post from emplay..

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Hey - until I see Boozer in a Laker uni - it still could be Jack Haley on crack - but I'm getting separate sources saying it's legit.

If this thing goes through - I can give you full scouting reports on George and Butler - Vlade is done by the way - but he Has a $2 mil buy out next season.

And the Jazz aren't under the cap after this trade next year to get Ray Allen.

It does help Utah in the summer of 2006 though.</div>

I heard Haley's report and he said Boozer would be a Laker in the next 48 hours. I find it hard to believe it's not a done deal, because Haley's putting his rep on the line, and has more to lose if it doesn't go through, opposed to what he has to gain by reporting the trade.

Reasons why the Jazz do this deal...
This off-season they spent a lot of money on Boozer, Okur, and AK47's extension. Spending the money has backfired on the team and they have been forced to make an unpopular move by trading one of those high paid players. The Jazz will get a young player, Butler, with a great attitude and work ethic. He gives the Jazz another athletic front court player to compliment AK47, and will give the Jazz a lift on offense. Devean George will likely be on the team for only one season, but he improves the Jazz position to be a major free agent player in the 2006 season. Divac will also provide them more cap space once they release him or buy him out, like they did with Elden Campbell. The deal favors the Lakers, but in 2 seasons the Jazz get the opportunity to add a player with George and Divac's salary spots.

Man, whats with these Jazz kids crying? Makin me sick to my stomach.

Jazz wont win regaurdless of the trade. BUT i think that any team that gets a up and comer and a decent filler is doing alright when shipping a 1 dimensional player with a big contract.

Caron butler is a WAY better defender and shot blocker at the 3 spot then Boozer ever was at any spot in his career. Hes more athletic and attacks the basket and regaurdless of what people say...come crunch time he is capable of pulling of a clutch steal for your team.

I personally dont like the trade, i think boozer did good last year but i dont like him. But whatever the lakers feel is best for the team im all for. Just sick of jazz fans crying over spilt milk. Move AK to the 4 where he belongs, throw Mehm at the C spot where he belongs, place Caron at SF and Raja/Harp should get the SG spot and whenever mcleod gets back, there you go at pg.

Stop crying....we traded easily the greatest center of all time last year, and one of the greatest PG's ever, needless to say i dont feel sorry for you one bit. Stop Crying a river. PLEASE.

    HAHAH [IMG]

    [IMG] nice one...

    still waiting on confirmation...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to Jack Haley of Fox Sports West, the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz have completed a trade sending Caron Butler, Devean George and Vlade Divac to the Jazz for Carlos Boozer. Haley first leaked that a trade was being discussed on Friday night (Southern California Sports Report and Totally Basketball). Despite denials from all parties concerned, Jack indicated, Sunday night that the deal was simply waiting league approval and would be official within 24-48 hours.

I have received numerous inquiries regarding the alleged trade from both Laker and Jazz fans. The biggest question that has been plaguing me since the news initially broke was why Jack Haley? No other source has been able to come out publicly with the rumor. Why would Jack, for three straight nights, air the story if it wasn't true? Why aren't the local papers running with it? Why was Jazz owner, Larry H. Miller, denying any such move minutes before Haley exclaimed the deal was done in LA?</div>

    Boozer to the Lakers imminent

You know full well, if the Lakers traded a higher caliber player for less you would be calling for Mitch's head. Don't bring this bs in here saying otherwise.

And LOL @ trading one of the greatest PGs ever. Dude was on the major decline, you didn't have him in his prime, so your point is?

Of course you aren't mad, you are getting the better of the deal.

<font color="Red">* Keep it clean, fellas. No need for baiting and witty one-liners. -Mel</font>

No one is saying this is a bad deal for the Lakers. The Lakers are improving, or we would be screaming for Mitch's head. It's a good deal for the Lakers and a good move by the Jazz. Obviously, it was the best deal the Jazz could get, because I'm sure their GM let everyone know Boozer was on the block. On a personal level though, Caron Butler is hard to give up. He's a class act and was a nice fit with Kobe. He has a great work ethic and the skills it takes to be a star in the league. All he lacks right now is consistency, but that will come in time and through experience. I just hope Boozer brings the same attitude and drive when he becomes a Laker.

Thats what I am saying. It is a good trade for the Lakers. However, in my opinion and almost every Jazz fans opinion, it is a horrible trade for the Jazz. Therefore my post was in response to this member saying Jazz fans are crying. Thats my point
