It's not a horrible trade for the Jazz, which is his arguement and I agree. The trade helps out both teams. It helps the Lakers in the short term because they add a physical presence in the frontcourt and get to move Odom to his natural position.

It helps the Jazz, because the Lakers just took a huge contract off their hands for a player who has been under performing. The Jazz are trying to position themselves for future success. The team went into a slump once AK47 got injured, but even though he came back the Jazz continued to struggle, prompting them to make some changes. It comes down to making a smart business decision for the Jazz. The Jazz are going to struggle to get 25 to 30 wins this year. They could accomplish the same results for a lot cheaper unloading Boozer. With the trade the Jazz have a chance to build around some nice young talent.

Ak47 - Butler - Snyder - Humphries - Okur in addition they will have a lottery pick this year and then put themselves in a position to sign a big name free agent in 2006-07. That doesn't look so bad to me.

I'm perfectly calm. Responding to people that aren't calm is all I am doing

Which I totally disagree with. Now moving on.......... lol.

And I was responding to his calling us basically cry babies, not about his position on the trade itself.

But anyway...... lets talk about how exactly we will kill Haley or KOC. I suggest we force them to watch the Hawks for the rest of the season. That will surely drive them to suicide (although the Jazz and Hawks aren't far off) [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A crazy season of turmoil and upheaval in Los Angeles might be taking another turn.

Fox Sports Net's Jack Haley is reporting the Lakers will trade Vlade Divac, Caron Butler and Devean George to the Utah Jazz in exchange for big man Carlos Boozer, pending league approval.

Trade rumors swirled around the Lakers all through All-Star Weekend in Denver, particularly forward Lamar Odom. One report Sunday said Odom had been offered to the Kings for All-Star forward Peja Stojakovic. And another said that Odom was dangled to Utah in a Boozer trade.</div>

Foxsports is now reporting the imminent trade for Boozer.

Someone on Jazzhoops.com said that on the main Jazz station over there 1320, Chris Harris, the reporter, just got off the phone with Jazz PR.

They said there is absolutely NO TRUTH to the trade rumor involving Boozer, Butler, George and Divac.

    So who knows

The Jazz denied Wednesday they are talking seriously about trading point guard Carlos Arroyo, the former starter who remains buried deep on coach Jerry Sloan's bench ? and who still is quite unhappy with his lack of playing time.

Carlos Arroyo, center, watches from the bench during Utah's win over the Suns. Arroyo remained on the bench the entire game.

Jeffrey D. Allred, Deseret Morning News
"We've had no substantive conversations with anybody about trading Carlos Arroyo," said Kevin O'Connor, senior vice president of basketball operations for the 13-24 Jazz.
"Have I talked to a lot of people about a lot of things? Yeah," O'Connor added. "And names have come up. Carlos' name's come up. Everybody's name comes up on our roster. When you lose, that happens. And you look to improve yourself."
O'Connor, however, bristled at an Internet report that earlier this week falsely suggested Arroyo had already been traded. "It's not fair to Carlos," he said. "It's not fair to us."

I have more faith in Haley's credibility than the Jazz. Look it how they denied the Arroyo rumors and next thing you know he's in Detroit. You cannot expect either GM to come out and make an announcement until the trade is actually completed. Until it's approved by the league, they are going to deny anything. They have to protect against the possibility of the league not approving the trade and then having to answer to the players who were involved.

I agree with Shape 100%. It makes perfect sense to deny any trade rumors while waiting for league approval because if it is not approved and they do not deny trade rumors they then have to deal with the player who was supposedly being traded.

BTW just so you all know, Haley was also the one to break the news to us about the Shaq to Miami trade. It took a few days for it to become official but he was right on, and that trade went through. So up til this point, Haley has been a pretty creditable source.

Simple is this, Trading boozer is not the worst thing that could happen to the jazz and complaining isint going to do anything. Everyone wants mitch's head, get in line. As for GP, last time i checked....yes, top 5 PG's ever reguardless if his best days are past, so are shaq's but hes still shaq.

My whole point was, Jazz will not win either way...with or without boozer. Lucky if they finish above .500 . Not opinion, merely Fact. As for Boozer, i am one laker fan who hopes we dont get him because he is a bit too over rated and over paid, but we could use him as PF seeing our lack of a decent PF in the past infinity years.

    ...smh.

But my point about payton, as off topic as your making it, is simply TEAMS LOSE TALENT all the time. Rare is it to find a team that sticks together, and those who do are usually pretty good (Spurs). [IMG] Thats all man, nothing to get heated about mate.
