Apparently the Jazz have agreed to trade Boozer for Butler, George, and Divac. FSN's Jack Haley is reporting it. I don't buy it at all though...I'll wait for the word from ESPN.
Well that has been the rumour for a few days now, but i agree i will wait unitl its really official. The media has a habit of saying things wrong and not giving all the facts. If it is true, I do not like it for the Lakers. Giving up Caron Butler would not be a good move.
Anyone hear David Aldridge during the All-Star game when he talked about the Lakers trading Lamar Odom to the Kings for Peja Stojakovic? Anyone know if that has any credibility to it. You know that Jerry Buss will make a move before the deadline is up.
The rumor involving the Kings looks like this: Lamar Odom for Peja Stojakovic and Bobby Jackson. I think the Lakers would much more benefit from the Boozer trade. Bryant, Odom, and Boozer would be pretty sweet. The Kings trade seems worthless. They don't need a guy like Stojakovic, and Jackson is going to be injured anyway.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know why the Jazz would do this trade they are getting gipped!!</div> Yeah, they would be...I don't think it's going down though.
Looks like it's false...Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor is denying it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">O'Connor denies Jazz are talking trade with Lakers By Tim Buckley Deseret Morning News DENVER ? The Jazz on Sunday denied there is substance to a suggestion they may be involved in trade talks with the Los Angeles Lakers regarding power forward Carlos Boozer. According to a Saturday-night Internet posting on InsideHoops.com, "there are rumors coming from Fox Sports radio in Los Angeles that the Lakers may be moving Lamar Odom soon, possibly to Utah for Carlos Boozer. Other players would be involved." "Absolutely ludicrous," said Jazz basketball operations senior vice president Kevin O'Connor, who was in Denver for Sunday night's NBA All-Star Game. The Jazz do not deny that they'd listen to overtures regarding anyone on their roster, but O'Connor said he has not spoken to the Lakers regarding Boozer. "We haven't been shopping Carlos around at all," Jazz owner Larry H. Miller told KSL-TV, Ch. 5's Rod Zundel. "In fact, I have to tell you right now, as honestly as I can, that I have a hard time imagining circumstances that would have us trading Carlos."</div> Link to rest of Article
Marc Stein of ESPN is now denying any Boozer trade as well... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DENVER -- Tomorrow we get to this week's Power Rankings. For today, coming off the All-Star Game, here's a list of 13 things to watch for with about 30 games to play ... 13 being the number because our original plan -- a tribute to the All-Star Game MVP -- would have made for a short list, since Allen Iverson wears No. 3. 1. The trading deadline is Thursday, but don't be greedy and pout if we don't see another major deal between now and then. Don't forget that we've already witnessed a substantial number of pre-deadline deals, including a blockbuster (Vince Carter) and several subtle steals: Houston's acquisitions of David Wesley and Jon Barry; Phoenix nabbing Jim Jackson and Walter McCarty; Detroit landing Carlos Arroyo. You will hear plenty this week about Michael Redd, Gary Payton, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer and even Peja Stojakovic changing teams. Just don't expect any of them to actually move. It's been a busy-enough trade market as it is, and in most cases the employers of the names above (especially Milwaukee and Sacramento with Redd and Peja) don't plan to deal away the asset in question.</div> Link to Article This whole trade is a fluke, just as I thought.
These trades sound bad if they happen... Im just looking foward to see what Milwaukee gets for Redd because they have to trade him if they want anything out of him for next year. He wont resign...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lakers1:</div><div class="quote_post">no if the gm denies it,that means there talking.they always deny talks</div> sorry...but this logic is just plain dumb. what happens if there really ARENT any talks? is that when the gm's say "yes...we've been talking heavily" but really they havent? just because a GM denies talk, doesnt automatically mean there ARE talks ongoing ever think that they deny talks because there actually arent any? lol about 1 of every 150 trade rumors actually go through. so its just a guess...but somewhere along the line, a trade gets brought up to a gm, who denies the talks, and is actually telling the truth on subject, i just dont get this trade.st. moving boozer after inking that deal with him makes no sense to me.
Yeah <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't know why the Jazz would do this trade they are getting gipped!!</div> I agree ... i heard this trade with odom in there somewhere......
Now even Haley is waiving the white flag: If you didn't watch the "Southern California Sports report" last night, this is what went down: Haley said that on Sunday when he made the report, he felt that the sources that gave him this info were "very reliable". He said he even talked to a couple of GM's and told him he was right on. He said that "things changed" over the last couple of days and the deal is basically off for now. He didn't come right out in say it, but than the host Patrick O'Neil asked him straight up, "Is the Boozer deal off?" Haley replied, "As of right now, yes it is."
lakers get boozer from utah, then they get peja from sacto, lineup would be something like: C- scrub PF- boozer SF- peja SG- kobe PG- whoever. hmmm...not bad.
