Man, TO fans got to give Carter a break, hes an amazing player and the best thing thats ever happened to the franchise, and hes one of the classiest and most generous player off the court. It makes me sick to see all those punks boo him at the games. I know everybodys sayin he slacked off, but if you watched the actual interview (which i guarentee none of you haters did) youd see that his words were taken completely out of context. He had a rite to ask for a trade, the raps are goin nowhere, and when a franchise hires another unproven GM and another unproven coach, any guy would be pissed. Not to mention the crappy draft picks (other than CB4) and crappy trades that accomplish nothing fdor the team other than picking up extra salary. TO doesnt deserve to retire VC's jersey after the way they treated him, and his #15 will be hangin in the Jersey rafters once him and RJ and Kidd lead Jersey to a title. BTW that dunk is pretty sweet

^Good post, I agree but I don't exactly think that we don't "deserve" to retire his jersey. I think we should though, maybe there'll be less bitterness between Vince and the fans.

He deserves to have his number retired or at least honoured like the leafs. He did so much for our franchise. Taking us to the Playoffs and giving Toronto something else to cheer about besides hockey

Are you retarded. we literally did EVERYTHING for vince (including giving hima 90+ million dollar contract0, he says hes a "raptor for life" and then screws us over. I hate it when Toronto fans give that jackass any praise. And its not like I am a Carter hater either, he was my favorite player for a few years. How can you like himn after what he did to us?

I dont blame him, playing on a wack basketball team, why give effort when the team sucks so bad lmao. He deserves the right to move on with his career and try to do bigger things, staying in Toronto was like doing the same thing year after year..and thats LOSE. [IMG] [IMG]

Chris Bosh will probably leave also when he gets the chance lol.

wow... please dont post in the raptors section again, Vince is the reason why we sucked so much, always injured, and he took up half the payroll so we couldnt get any help, and before he was getting injured, we had a good team made it to the confeernce finals, and this year we had bosh, rose, marshall, and a strong center, but he didnt want to play

Well first off I'd like to say that Vince's depart wasn't only his fault, it was the management's too. both of them are equally part of the reason why he left. yes he was a little spoiled by the management but he only did it for the better of the team. he didnt frigging DEMAND for 12 mil a year.

you guys just love to hold grudges. its been 6 months and you still cant get over it, this just goes to show that you do miss him if you care about it this much. i can honestly say that i miss him, i miss him a lot and i wish he was still a raptor, and yes i hated him after he left but ive gotten over it. life goes on. and what really bothers me is that t-mac and damon stoudamire and all those other guys, they're all booed too and tell me. HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN? wait, almost 10 years with damon and like 5 with t-mac? [IMG]

vince made a lot of mistakes with the raptors yes. but you cant say that you havent ever made mistakes either. and telling people to "dont ever post in the raptors section again" doesnt help your argument. and what strong centre are you talking about? pape? hoffa? loren woods? they all have potential but none of them are strong..at ALL.

Vince Carter most overrated player in the NBA

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The sporting news
Sports Illustrated asked 227 pro ballers, ``Who is the most underrated player in the NBA?''

Seattle forward Rashard Lewis garnered 8 percent of the vote, followed by Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko, Seattle guard Ray Allen and Milwaukee guard Michael Redd, all with 5 percent.

Then the mag asked: ``Who is the most overrated?''

New Jersey guard Vince Carter was the runaway choice with 24 percent of the vote, followed by Denver forward Carmelo Anthony, 11 percent; Houston center Yao Ming, 10 percent; and Houston forward Tracy McGrady, 6 percent.</div>

24% wow that is nuts, and his cousin comes in 4th with 6% as well. I think its right, so many people jumped on the VC bandwagon as soon as he joined the Nets. Carter's stats are being amplified by Kidd and everyone knows Vince is the whiniest player in the league and is afraid of contact.

I didn't even realise he was being overrated, he's still not much of a good all-star in comparison, I guess it's because I'm a raptor fan [IMG]

yup... he couldnt' have gotten better with that pile of garbage they had in Toronto. Now that he's around great players like Kidd and Jefferson.... we've seen what he's capable of puttin up. His situation reminds of when Barkley was ran out of Philly and the next year he won the MVP with the Suns. Wouldn't be surprised if he continues to play as he did this year, if not better.

I dont like Vince and what he did to the Raps...but overrated he is not. He's one of the 10 best scorers in the league and is still the best dunker and the most creative player in the game.

He may be, but this could have been in the 'Vince Carter Thread' or the Nets forum.
