http://nbahoopsonline.com/Articles/2004-05...akerstrade.html <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lakers to acquire Redd from Bucks The Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers are nearing a deal that would send guard Michael Redd, and center Dan Gadzuric to the Lakers for guard Sasha Vujacic, forward Luke Walton, and center Chris Mihm. The Bucks feel they will not be able to keep Redd after the end of this season, so acquiring three young players make sense. Gadzuric who played college ball in southern California at UCLA would fit the Lakers offense, as would Redd, who would probably come off the bench, or the Lakers could move Bryant to the small forward spot. Leading more credence to this report is the fact that many people involved in the Lakers organization have said that the Lakers will make a trade before the trade deadline, and that player acquired would be a high profile player. Redd would fit that mold. He was an all-star in 2004. Most analyses believe the Lakers to be going after a big man, most notably Utah?s Carlos Boozer. But recent reports say that deal is off, so making a trade with the Bucks to acquire another potential star who if need be contract would come off the books at seasons? end. </div>
how do we know what's true anymore, and how does this help the Lakers, does Caron have to be a 6th man?
Ugh..can we merge this with the "Huge Trade About to Go Down" Thread? I hate this deal with a passion. We lose Mihm, we get Gadzuric who is a better rebounder, but isn't anywhere near Mihm offensively. We lose Walton and Vujacic...two young kids. We get Michael Redd, who moves his feet slower than Chucky Atkins on D...so our lineup would look like this.. Pg- Chucky Sg- Kobe Sf- Caron Pf- Lamar C- Gadzuric 6th man - Michael Redd I do not see how that lineup helps us at all, I thought we wanted to up at the 1 or 4, with this trade...Chucky stays at the 1, Lamar at the 4. I would much rather acquire Baron Davis than Redd.
Pg- Kobe Sg- Michael Redd Sf- Caron Pf- Lamar C- Gadzuric try that and see how it works... or trade redd to the knicks
I prefer PG- Baron Davis SG- Kobe Bryant SF- Jumaine Jones PF- Lamar Odom C- Chris Mihm over any lineup with Redd really, we don't need another 2. He can't play the 3 or 1, I doubt we would want to move Kobe to the 3, and he already stated he wants Lamar to do the primary ball-handling if Atkins isn't, so I doubt Kobe would want to be moved to the 1.
If this is true, then it indicates to me that Butler is on his way out too, if not for Boozer then for someone else. I don't think they trade into a logjam here. but ugh, why Gadzuric. He's a good athlete, but he's also the clumsiest guy in the league. I got enough of his bad footwork and dropped passes when he was at UCLA ... now that I think about it, could this be a UCLA reunion with Gadzuric and Baron?? G Baron Davis G Michael Redd F Kobe Bryant F Lamar Odom C *sigh* Dan Gadzuric
This trade makes no sense for the Lakers. Michael Redd is a nice player, but Kobe has a lock on the SG position. Also Redd is an UN-restricted free agent in the summer, and I doubt he re-signs with the Lakers. Downgrading our center is the last thing the Lakers need to do, the defense is terrible as it is and Gadzuric has no post moves to speak of. At least Mihm can get you the occassional hook shot to keep the defense honest. I also find it hard to believe this is the best deal the Bucks could get for Redd.
Making a trade with the New Orleans Hornets seems to be more of a realistic deal right now. Baron Davis has put the Hornets in a bad spot through most of the year along with the absence of Jamaal Magloire and Jamal Mashburn. While I don't see Magloire or Mashburn going anywhere this year I do see BD heading to LA caused by the emergence of Dan Dickau's game. I'm not sure if they still have the "Most Improved Player" award but that will most likely go to Dan Dickau since Grant Hill hasn't so much as improved his game as this has been a comeback for the Magic star. I haven't the slightest clue who LA would trade to NO for BD. I'm assuming at this point that it could be anyone since LA has a bundle of young talent on that roster. What would most likely be better for both teams in my opinion would be to trade BD for Lamar Odom since LA would have a star point guard and NO would have a dependable small forward and be able to use Lee Nailon off the bench. But that's just my opinion.
Is nbahoopsonline the first site to break this? From the frontpage, the site looks like a knockoff site which was started by teenagers. I highly doubt that a site of this caliber would be the first to break such important news. There's also indications that Golden State can offer Dale Davis, Mike Dunleavy and a bunch of picks for Van Horn and Redd. That would be a better deal than the one that this rumor is suggesting. Boozer has a better chance of being traded to LA.
I'm going to agree with that deal for Redd, gaining future picks and Dunleavy Jr. would be a more logical choice.
I still think Michael Redd is not a good move for the Lakers. Like Shape said, he is a FA at the end of the year, doubt he would settler for being 3rd fiddle to Kobe and Lamar again, when on other teams he would be 1st or 2nd fiddle. Baron Please
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the thread title. Thank god its not true. I don't want Baron Davis, and I don't want Michael Redd. Baron is a ball hog and he jacks up like twice the number of shots per game then Kobe.
i prefer pg-jason kidd 2-KOBE BRYANT 3-shawn marion pf-tim duncan c-shaq we can do pretty good with those players
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lakers1:</div><div class="quote_post">i prefer pg-jason kidd 2-KOBE BRYANT 3-shawn marion pf-tim duncan c-shaq we can do pretty good with those players</div> are you stupid? that could never be an NBA teams lineup besides an All Star game. Anyways seeing Redd and Gadzuric go angers me alot. The Bucks would be getting nothing for Redd who is an up and comer still and is very young. Danny G has been playing very good ball too recently and I do not want to see him go. Hes a great all around player too and its his 2nd/3rd year only also. This trade straight up blows... (IF IT HAPPENS)
sorry i thought you were just some lil kid basketball fan or something.... its all good... as long as that trade doesnt happen
